Re: KTM Duke 390 - Accessories Thread

Is there a way one could use the rear number plate angles used on the 200NS on the duke & remove the rear mudguard?

KTM powerparts has a similar rear number plate. You may want to check on this.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Accessories Thread

I didnt do anything differently, me and two other 390's were returning from our club anniversary and I suffered a seizure, nobody has a clue as to why that happened, they replaced everything under warranty, and I just left it at that, since I have been riding RD and bullet for a long time, seizures arent new lol, but on this, was surprised.

Eitherwise, they have taken care of it without any whining, that is good enough for me.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Accessories Thread

Plan to install a cigarette lighter (Got an Sena SMH10 Bluetooth set; dont think the battery on the S3 will last with bluetooth streaming, GPS & phone calls). Any recommendations/ caveats? THe Kasturba road KTM guys recommended a shop called Tirumala Auto on Langford road. He wanted 600 bucks for the lighter, fitted. Promised that he will do it without skinning any wire.

Was also thinking of upgrading the horn to Skoda type horns or Roots Wind chime. Again, without disturbing stock horn. Any tips?

Mods: repeated here as this seemed more apt.

I would suggest http://www.powerlet.com. I have one installed on my Ninja 300. No problems whatsoever.

@Pratik: Any information on where I can get the powerlet in Bangalore/India? How much did you pay for it? Can you (or Jatin) please post some images?

@jatinganapathy: thinking Stebel is too loud & might cause accidents unless I have a changeover switch.

Stebel is not going to cause any accidents. I can assure you that. Its not an atom bomb(the diwali one) or a train horn. Its pretty much similar to the horns in the high end cars and its loud but not something that will cause accident.

Check few videos in internet on stebel and you will understand its bassy and just a little stronger than the stock but not something that will scare people.

Worst case use the same wiring set up and install something like the symphony horn similar to Skoda. Its far more milder.

Like I was saying in one of the other threads, please consider the fact that Air Horns are illegal before you buy a Stebel Nautilus

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Accessories Thread

Hi: Installed the Roots Wind Tone horn(s) without any skinning. The stock horn is still there but is a dummy. The horn is sufficient for my purposes & is loud enough without being deafening.

Also installed a local cigarette lighter but will probably go for a proper unit. It was installed crudely but by JC Road standards, a pretty neat job. No drilling/ cutting/ skinning.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Accessories Thread

Hi Friends,

I recently acquired D390 and I am on a look out for following accessories:

1. Front fork sliders.
2. Frame Sliders.
3. Swing arm sliders
4. Paddock stand (not immediately but definitely on my to-buy list)

If any one has bought them please let me know and price of them.

The JC moto has all the above sliders for a discount of 15% over the MRP on the fb page, link to the same is below
jcMoto KTM Duke Swing arm spools and fork sliders are now available at the webshop. www.jcmoto.in/shop Buy the entire KTM crash protection set and get a 15% off. And it's free shipping all over India. http://jcmoto.in/shop/ktm-duke-crash-protection-set/

As regarding the paddock stand, some of the guys in Bangalore have pooled and got us this for 800INR. An el cheapo way as you can all it. But as long as it serves your purpose, who cares for finesse.
