Glad to see you working on a really nice bike. Hope you get the desired output after all the work is done.
@gearbox : Thank you buddy!!

If you ask any body who has ever owned a Rajdoot or even a mechanic who has worked on one, they all will tell you the same thing. It is one of the most Practical 2 stroke bikes (yet one of the most under rated one).

I cannot tell you the feeling of riding a Rajdoot. It is just so simple to ride with all basic stuff. And mind you, the suspension of a Rajdoot cannot be compared to any new modern bike. Its just too soft...

I am now almost at the end of completion of Phase 1 of restoration of the bike that is to "bring her back to life"

Once the bike is alive and running, I am planning to use her in the same avatar. The actual step by step restoration (Paint, chrome plating etc.) will be in Phase 2 which i guess will be only after Diwali.

Just like you mentioned, I too hope that I get the desired output after all the work is done.

Cheers

Prasad

I've a neighbor who owns a this bike from 1960's (Single owner) & still rides. I was offering him to help, but he didn't want a complete restoration due to practical issues. Hence I'd to walk out.

Hoping to learn one or 2 things from this thread.
@aargee: Thank you for the kind words of encouragement.

I guess your neighbor must be having the original Made in Poland WFM model with him if it is from the 60's. Those bikes are rare these days. Any chance you could post a pic of that bike here?

Happy to see that the bike is being restored. My dad's 1983 Rajdoot, which was running till 2010, is stand still for the past 3 years but well protected. We are planning to restore it soon.
Thanks for the sparks!

Update as on 06.11.2013

Please pardon me for I have been a bit busy in Diwali preparations and other stuff and have not got time to post the updates here.

Anyways, to continue the restoration process, once the engine was assembled, the next thing was to mount it back on the chassis and try to start it.

We mounted the engine, filled Oil, set the points, put new spark plug, put some petrol and Oil and Voila !!! The bike roared to life !!!!

I guess the title of this thread - Bringing back to life was completed

Let me post some pictures for viewing pleasure

This bike is very close to my heart. My dad used to own a Rajdoot 175 with a tear drop tank didn't have the big chrome plate on the tank. I still remember its nice sound and the accelaration it had. Sadly when we were shifting from solapur to pune dad gave it to his long time mechanic as a gift. He was not confident of riding it in pune.

This is a simple, rugged, and very powerful machine. The ride quality was awesome ( better than our bullet standard). And it had a lot of torque.

Miss the bike. One of these days planning to go and track the mechanic down and see if e let's me get it back.
