Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

Just saw this post from MotorBeam on Facebook about the new 2014 Karizma. Apparently they have received a picture with Hero CEO sitting on the new bike. The styling looks pretty good to me and adopting the current design trend. However, sad to see 110 cross section tires in the back if I am not wrong.

The picture is taken from MotorBeam website and they have the copyrights

re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

Hope this is not a PS job lol.

Bike looks okay-ish. Not too great, considering the stuff that is available these days in India.
However, pretty much everything else mechanical looks like its being retained from the previous version.
Same front tires, same rear tires, same old ancient twin shocks, no mono-shocks.

Guessing this will be priced even higher than the current ZMR.

re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

Didn't the Karizma recently get a minor facelift?
I have seen recent ZMR's have whitened glass on rear indicators (looks snazzy). Was that the old design?

This one looks better when compared with current ZMR, there is a speculation that EBR has done some work to improve performance. Hope it turns out to be true.

re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

I used to ride a Karizma R extensively, this was before bikes like the CBR250R, Duke 200/390, Yamaha FZ series etc were launched. 4-5 years back the Karizma was a true all rounder, easily coping with both commuting duties and touring. It really did have a very reliable power plant, which with some souping up, could bring a smile to anyone's face.

EBR may or may not have improved the power output and delivery on this latest avatar of the Karizma, even so, there is only so much one can extract from a 20 bhp single cylinder 4 stroke engine. Personally, I think this looks better than the current ZMR, less bulk, more functional. But underpowered and undertyred, so I do not think this can compete with the available options in today's market.

Seems it will be a powerful one.

Re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

Whoa..!!! The front fairing (design and curves) and the mirror's looks exactly identical to the Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

The number plate holder looks like a direct R15 V2.0 copy.

Although this looks a lot better than the existing ZMR (thanks to the Honda inspired headlight design and other design cues), i wonder why the guys at Hero couldn't do better with a more original design.

Also, it still has no monoshock at the rear and sports a skinny tire as much as i can see in the pic.

More powerful engine? are they implying that the bike will carry an all new engine? My guess is that it will just be one two bhp bump in the power.

The headlamps are so similar to the P220, but seems like it was still a difficult task for Hero to bring in projectors.

I love the Karizma R (old gen) design much more. Give that bike a new unit, I am sure it would find buyers.

Re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

Holy mother of Lord! The earlier ZMR was obviously inspired by the earlier Gixxer 600s; this time, however, they just couldn't keep the inspiration to one single brand!

Any confirmed news on the engine?

Re: Scoop! 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR

It's well known that they'd bench-mark the P220. But it seems they didn't bother being subtle about it, hence the fairing. It's worth in today's market shouldn't be more than 80k if you ask me.

Ohh God, what have they done to the boy
Along with this contraption which our "lesser' tastes cannot appreciate, give us karizma with:

Rear Disc
Tubeless Tyres
faired (not blown up like this one) and basic round headlight versions (priced accordingly )
both carb and FI versions
Better wattage headlamps

Put a bigger engine in Impulse as well.

Sab mein nahi hota hai Hero, please keep it simple for them

Kindly move this pic to weird and wacky mods thread
