Bears a very strong resemblance to the Honda Aviator?

Re: Yamaha's latest Scooter, the Alpha

Seems like Yamaha is now pressing full steam in this segment of the two wheeler market and why not, it is the fastest growing one anyways.

Coming to the scoop, the Alpha seems to be a more sober looking model probably targetted at the family crowd compared to the Ray series which seems to be aimed at the younger crowd with its stylish looks.

Looks good, and if priced well then it should garner good acceptance from the Indian crowd. I don't have any first hand experience with Yamaha's after sales service, but I have not heard much negative feedback as well.

Re: Yamaha's latest Scooter, the Alpha

Yamaha has a pretty decent range of scooters that have been seen in the International market. I wonder why are they slow and behind in launching them in the Indian market.

India is a big scooter market and after Bajaj, Honda has tasted success with scooters. The Honda Activa has seen a long waiting list and is a commuters delight when it comes to travelling shot distances within the city. It has maintained its leadership position for years.

Indian scooter lovers now want something new in terms of design and offering. They have become use to with the existing design range and a regular design may not get the attention that it deserves.
