Honda plans to expand its production capacity with a 4th new plant at Gujarat in 2015. An additional investment of Rs. 1,100 crore for reaching 1.2 million units annual capacity.


The CBR 650F was unveiled today.

• The CBR 650F will be the highest capacity motorcycle to be assembled in India.
• Powered by a DOHC 4-cylinder engine with FI mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
• 86 BHP @ 11,000 RPM & 63 Nm @ 8,000 RPM.
• ABS to be standard.

Touring friendly position evident.


Rider & pillion seat have decent room. Even those on the heavier side won't have problems here.


Single headlamp. Not VFR like, neither Fireblade like. Conventional telescopic front suspension setup.


Tail lamps are similar to the Fireblade. LED type.

Instrument cluster divided into two. LHS: Tacho. RHS: Most probably the speedo and other relevant info.

The CBR 500R was unveiled @ the Auto Expo 2014. Powered by the 471 cc liquid cooled, DOHC parallel twin engine with FI mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Does not look as substantial as the CBR 650F. This one is much sleeker.

Honda showcased the PCX 125 @ the Auto Expo 2014. Powered by a 125 cc liquid cooled, SOHC 4-stroke engine with idling stop and FI.

Finally a different looking scooter, if it does hit the streets, this will be the second design to break the monotony of plane jane scooters after the Kinetic Blaze.


XL sized headlamps make it look substantial, and not punny. The front tyre size however does not do justice.


Rear end also adds some funk. Indicators mounted next to the tail lamps. Rear grab rails are neatly integrated.

Speedo console looks as good as the overall design.

Honda also showcased the first concept model fully developed by Honda R&D India, called the CX-01. CX stands for concept cross & 01 for first model by HRID.

Front end design is up to the mark, as per current design standards.


LED headlamps and turn indicators mounted on the handlebar guards.


Meaty exhaust pipe, single piece seat.


Bike looks tall, much in the ball park of the Dukes and the Pulsar NS.

Honda also showcased the Activa 125 @ the Auto Expo 2014. Market availability starts in Q1 of FY'15. Powered by a 125cc air cooled engine; combi brakes & optional disc brake, tubeless tyres with alloy wheels, digital trip / odo meter etc.

1. 8.6 BHP @ 6500 RPM & 10.12 Nm @ 5500 RPM.
2. Telescopic font suspension.
3. Optional disc brake of 190mm diameter, CBS only on drum brake equipped models.
4. 4 colours: Midnight blue metallic, black, pearl sunbeam white & sword silver metallic.

Nice to see a 125 from Honda finally. But it looks too much like an Avaiator. Does it also have the larger 12" wheels?

Sadly Honda best performing scooter is still it blandest looking.

And it hottest looking scooter (Dio) is under powered and lacks basics like telescopic forks.

If Honda had to only showcase PCX range, they should have showcased PCX 150. We are not an European country to have license restrictions upto 125cc.

Honda India should break away for their Activa lineage if it feels to be a market leader. If it continues beating around Activa brand, it would be similar to Hero in last decade & Bajaj in '90s.

I read on another site that this model will be available from March. A colleague is also not able to get any 2014 Honda Activas, as the showroom people say that the model will only be available in March. At present only 2013 models are available, at no discount.

Thanks for the wonderful pics and coverage to the attention details too.

Finally Honda brings out the 125cc Activa and finally the Activa has the telescopic front. Rest all looks the same as in the existing.

Good to see Honda coming out with the PCX125, a direct competition to the rival Hero Zir. The scooter though looks longish. Any idea what those two buttons for Fuel & seat do?

Completely agree, the PCX look quite futuristic and different from anything that we have on the roads here and a 125cc would probably not do justice to the bike.

They can launch it with a higher cc motor and offer it as a power scooter which if one sees actually is non existant in our market. They can have all the cake for themselves and eat it too!
