Sorry to nitpick, but wont the twin silencer pose a safety risk to the pillion rider?

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

Mojo looks very interesting and Malinda proved that it can bring very stylish vehicle. I was not very confident when they bought Kinetic, and recalled the initial set of bikes they launched.
Unlike other Bikes Malinda bikes are pure Indian breed, hats off to them.

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

I still feel Mojo is not upto the mark. Offcourse it looks better than the previous version, but the headlight still looks out of place.
Why have the manufacturers started to make headlights and front fairing to look like Robots or human face?
The other touchups are good and it also hides the impact the two sidebars were having in the previous versions.

RVM are horrible to say, shaped like a Guava, need to change to something more macho with straight lines.

Rear mudguard with its smooth flowing lines doesnot match the overall character of the bike which is more of now a mixture of straight and flowing lines.

The pipe joining the engine to the Exhaust can also looks funny with the big radius given to it.

The other bikes have also not impressed me much, looks more of a jugaad.
Mahindra still needs to learn a lot about two wheeler styling and segmentation.

But the good thing is its improving by leaps and bounds. All the best for their future.

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

Sad to say that, Not at all a good show by Mahindra 2 wheelers.

Why presenting mojo when you have no intentions to launch ?
Also, i noticed, three different colors of silencers on mojo and two different colored pipes (under tank). These are varying as per body color. How are you going to provide service to these vehicles. Stocking each color parts is a headache. You do not have enough service centres too. If you paint it for each customer, acceptable quality standards drop (saying based on current Mahindra standards.).

On Mojo, Why twin silencers? Now a days, manufacturers are going for under body silencers, why two Thick silencers. those days are gone when people loved bulky dual silencers. How do you expect to seat female counterparts on your Mojo? Doesnt seem practical to me.

Mudguard free cafe racer concept. Mudguard is very much essential for any vehicle. Presenting such a concept is waste. saving weight to increase performace? Replace it with Mojo's engine and add a mudguard. Anyways its a concept.

Am i missing anything ? Mojo's engine specs are completly wierd. The torque figures should be greater than the power figure BHP. ideally.

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

New Mojo is much better than the earlier model they showcased. I felt it looks good in white and red. Specs also seem to be apt.
No good opinion about the twin exhausts in a single cylinder motorcycle.

But the Cafe racer is nowhere near the mark, in my opinion. But anyway I'm not mush familiar with the concept of a cafe racer and I've never been able to digest the need and relevance of a Cafe racer yet. The RE cafe racer is somewhat understandable though.

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

Except for the Mojo which seem to be a serious exercise , all the other vehicles seem to be an outcome of experiments carried out by their R & D staff using bits and pieces of parts lying around

Coming back the Mojo itself, the bike does look promising but what about the reliability and build of the product that M & M two wheeler are not know for till date since it needs a long and painful learning curve to get there!

Since they already had a Scrambler, they might have thought the Cafe Racer would create a decent buzz.

Re: Mahindra Two Wheelers @ Auto Expo 2014

Mahindra has come a long way since their acquisition of Kinetic.

I Had infact gone to one of their showrooms with a colleague of mine yesterday who wanted to check out the Centuro.

Being a auto enthusiast, grabbed the opportunity to do a small TD.

Overall, the design is neutral, though I am not a big fan of the so called Golden ribs.

The bike has a decent pick up for a 110 mill but somehow felt that punch was missing.

The company has however given a long list of features including folding keys with LED, Follow me home headlights and DTE on the digital meters.

At Rs. 57,XXX, it is quite a bargain.

Now, coming back to the crux. Mahindra are on a growth path and the Centuro is getting them some sales volumes. Mojo may or may not be a hit with the urban population and a lot depends on the pricing.

The desirability and the brand likeliness at this moment may be nil.

What about mojo's engine displacement? that has not been mentioned in the post.

IMHO now mojo looks far better than the first concept displayed by mahindra a few years ago. Though still nowhere near perfect, it is a vast improvement from its original form.

And why did'nt they drop that funny name too? its quite absurd to call a bike by that name.
