Dear Sir, I see it as another benchmark, which is set by one of the highly worshipped 2 wheeler brand in India. By opening these stores the enthusiasts will also get a glimpse of various interesting aspects of Royal Enfield. They sell all kind of accessories, that are displayed. It is a commercial store and its sells bikes as well.

Rightly put- 'life style store'; it actually feels that way, the ambiance and everything. The show room is in Saket malls where pretty much everything is trendy and showy!

Have been here thrice already, in the view of finalizing a T-Bird for a friend of mine. Courteous staff, excellent interiors, it gives you the consciousness RE demands and boasts of!

The experience so much impressive that my friend booked the bike on his third visit even though it was a bit expensive than Gurgaon/ Noida.

When you walk out of the showroom, you do feel the 'wow' factor!!

Top notch stuff This looks like a toy factory for enthusiasts. It is great that Eicher came up with the idea. Royal enfield is all about the brand they project and I am happy to see that they are conscious about the image.

Great initiative! If they backed all this up with solid, bullet proof bikes, no foreign player will be able to beat them!
Its sad that for such a cult brand the quality is not upto the mark. Every time I make up my mind that RE has improved the quality and that I can buy one without fear, I come across another RE horror story. :(

Perhaps to offset your horror story, I'll tell you about my 2011 Royal Enfield G5 Deluxe.
I bought my fuel injected 500cc Royal Enfield 2 3/4 years ago.

I have ridden it on 400 mile (645 km) trips, averaging 60 mph (97 kmph). The elevation on these trips varied between 1200 ft (369 meters) and 8000 ft (2,460 meters) above sea level.

Since buying it, I have needed to replace the rear drive chain and the front tyre. It now has 13,500 miles (21,775 km) on it. The rear tyre is getting a bit worn and will need replacing soon.

In all this time and distance, it has never failed to start easily. It has never left me stranded. In fact, it has never given me any reason at all to question its reliability. It has been more dependable than the BMW K-75 I bought new a number of years ago and I trusted that Beemer to carry me on a number of 1500 mile (2400 km) trips.

There are some who will say that my Royal Enfield is a export model so it was made better but the engine, frame, wheels and brakes are exactly the same as the 500cc UCE sold in India.
The only real difference is my motorcycle came with a O2 sensor in the exhaust and the computer map is made to deal with that.

The O2 (Lambda) sensor is part of the emission requirements in my Country and it has little to do with the operation of the engine. In fact, one could say that its presence reduces the dependability of my motorcycle because it is one more part to go wrong.

I couldn't be happier.

It has a rustic yet functional feel to it and looks great as well.

Excellent marketing efforts. I wish their QC efforts were as good. Do they have these lifestyle stores in Chennai or Bangalore? I would love to vist one.

Nice to hear that you are enjoying your RE. I fell in love with RE ever since I drove my friends Electra in my college days. I have been dreaming of owning one since that day. The whole RE "quality" discussion has been going on for a while in this forum and everywhere else.. So I will just state my experiences.

There are a lot of people who are very happy with their REs and that the quality has definitely improved. But there is also the possibility of getting a lemon. There is a guy in our riding group who bought the Thunderbird 500 and for the ~6000 kms he used it, it has spent so much time in the workshop and so many parts were replaced that he sold it and bought a Kawasaki and he could nt be happier. Hearsay is one thing but when it you see it happening to people you know, it makes you very apprehensive. There can be a separate thread altogether about the way you get treated at the RE service centres in Bangalore.

I am still watching the scene and maybe one day I might end up buying one.. or maybe I save up enough money for the Triumph Bonneville

Hi all, During our Delhi-NCR meet this Sunday i.e 16th March, I met our Bhpian Samarth Bhatia who booked a Black Thunderbird from the Royal Enfield's Lifestyle & Branding Store located in Saket (New Delhi). However, The delivery of his bike was taken from other showroom as deliveries had not started at that time. According to him, the overall experience has been good and he informed me that the accessories being sold there are priced as per the OEM prices.
