Some fuel to speculations: Looks like the Yamaha R3 is already getting ready to hit the tarmac in Europe.

re: Yamaha R25 launched in Indonesia. EDIT: Launch imminent in India!

"behind every excuse there shall be a well formulated and orchestrated ruse"

R3 shall be my excuse for not upgrading to another bike . I sincerely hope that they launch this in India with Europe specification(twin cylinder and not a single 320 cc).
On that note, there isn't much doubt about the fact that R3 will come through CKD or CBU route, but as far as hope goes, I can sing a prayer or two, to convince Yamaha to keep R3 price below 3 lakhs on-road if it gets launched next year.

Yamaha starts Dealership training for R25

Seems that the scepticism surrounding the rumoured releases of the R25 and the R3 models from the Yamaha stable have ended.

Yamaha India have already started to train their personnel for the upcoming R25 which was rumoured to be released in the coming year. This also puts end to the speculation of which of the two bikes will win the race of getting released the forthcoming year.

I think it's a missed opportunity bringing in the 250 rather than the 300. How much of a difference it would have made to the pricing? As a 250- I think it will have a very hard time against the RC390 in terms of the value proposition.

Absolutely right. There is going to be a lot of locking horns in the post 300 cc segment, viz the already VFM KTM 390 siblings, the upcoming CBR 300 R, the Ninja 300, and the entry level Benelli BN 302.

At this juncture bringing in the R25 is perplexing. One would know how the Japs slowly pulled the plug on the CBR 250 and the Ninja 250. Now bringing in the R25 is not going to have much competition barring the Z250 and the ever-eagerly awaited HX-250R.

And CKD. At almost 3 lakhs (est), it is going to be one costly proposition or premium as it's been said now. May be they thought, if the Z250 is being sold close to 3.5 Lakhs, why not us? Me thinks they really aren't interested in volumes, rather they are interested in the response.

There is no proof along with the article. Its just a "You read it First here" kind of news.

There has been many false alarms raised earlier too.
