Thing of the past, doesn't happen today. In fact I find Hero and Honda most arrogant at present.

Even the CBR250R had its fair share of quality issues (poor plastic, chipping paint, rusting surface etc) in its initial days.

Also there is recent new of the initial batches of the Yamaha R3 suffering from clutch related issues.

Learning:

Nearly every new launch is bound to come up with some issues.. what matters is if the manufacturer is "Open to keen to learn and keep Improving"

Precisely mate and we have "Phoren" brands like Triumph whose motorcycles are riddled with issues and yet they hold their nose high and bully the customers. Our very own TeamBHP apart from others has scores of threads on Triumph motorcycles and issues related with them coupled with Triumph management who turns a blind eye on those issues.
