SO my GT 535 was sitting idle since Covid lock downs and was not in any condition to ride. Thought I'll service it and start using it but turned out the tank rusted from the inside and needed to be replaced, the fuel injector etc needed service, throttle body needed replacement etc.

Anyways one thing led to another and finally after 3 months this is the outcome. Wanted to make it "more" cafe racer so the exhaust was changed with a Moto torque exhaust, KN air filter and a plethora of MK design products for the looks. Had to re-paint the tank so chose a candy red as it was already red.
I absolutely love riding this as it feels a bit lighter and quicker than ever.

And after all this, it is time to say goodbye to the Royal Enfield Continental GT 535.

Oh man!! How did I miss such a big update on this thread, Neil! Really sad to see her go. But then again, I see that you are adding a capable companion to the garage.

This was one of the most active and resourceful thread on the GT535 on the web. And a page that I keep coming back for references and pointers to tackle the RE mood swings.

The fact that I haven't looked at this thread in a long time also shows that I haven't had any problems or updates on my bike. But it has more to do with how busy the life has been and how lazy I have been to take the pain of cleaning and taking the bike out for a ride. Your post has just ignited my itch to ride the GT again. So hopefully I will wash her up this weekend and take her for a quick spin.

Ride Safe,

Hey y'all,
A new rider in town here. After reading through the whole set of experiences the yellow GT has been through, I couldn't stop myself from signing up here and keeping the lore of yellow GT alive. Back in Aug 2024, I had bought my first bike, the yellow GT. And oh boy, it was a beast for someone like a new rider like myself who hasn't tried anything powerful than a passion pro. Long story short (will post a detailed thread later), the bike needed a quick battery replacement with a few wiring changes which was causing the battery to drain out pretty quick, new break pads, a new windshield (the yellow one was causing damage to the speedometer), a cleaner set of cafe racer style mirrors and on a whim I did fit an interceptor's touring seat on it. And ofcourse, a set of custom leather tank pads for the retro vibe.
It has been one hell of an experience trying to understand how this beautiful machine operates, especially being over 200 kgs and minimal electronics. Rest assured, it is being pampered well. I'll be posting a thread soon on GT's new adventures.

Thanks @neil.jericho for all these crazy stories, they did help a lot in keeping maintenance checks at place.
