Royal Enfield Continental GT on the Bonneville Salt Flats

I think many of you would like to see the video of the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cafe on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Kevin Mahoney, the importer for Royal Enfield in the United States had two brand new CGT's modified to increase the horsepower and added a beautiful fairing.
The fairing is so small that the handlebars are now little more than the grips attached to the steering head.

There are many different classes of motorcycles and on this run the Royal
Enfield managed to set a speed record.

Although it didn't "break the ton", one must remember that running on the salt flats is not as easy as running on pavement.
The salt is softer than pavement so the tyres sink into it slightly. This lowers the speed compared with running on asphalt or concrete roads.

Enjoy!

re: Royal Enfield Continental GT on the Bonneville Salt Flats

Hi,

Many thanks for sharing the video. I think Continental GT is the first bike from India to do this on Bonneville salt lake. I am delighted .
Being a Royal Enfield rider myself, I hope Royal Enfield will invest more on R&D and quality control in near future. If they do so, I am sure we bikers across the world will be benefited.
