Guys,
As you all must have noticed that I don't have a number plate in the front, can someone please post an image of a number plate bracket that can be bolted to the front fork.

The front Number plate bracket looks a bit out of place, why don't you put a white sticker with number on the front Mud guard ?
OT: My neutral Light is not working, i am also doing a resto at home, would like to have your inputs.
Also when you decide to put that ignition switch , please detail out the connections for me!
thanks

Regarding the bracket I agree with you but, sticking it on the front mudguard will become a cop magnet.
The neutral switch provides negative to the pilot lamp. Your pilot lamp should have a positive and check if the switch provides a negative voltage/Ground. Also check by grounding the terminal going to the negative of the pilot lamp if the light come on.
I have wasted my money on a horrible RD ignition lock(its a Delhi make), I should have bought the RXG lock and installed that, its a straight fit, would have kept all these gremlins at bay. I would suggest you to go for that. If you want to retain the old key with and RXG lock, you can just swap the bottom end from an RXG. I am getting a multi meter I borrowed from a friend, today. If possible I might get the ignition switch working.

Yes definitely a cop magnet! My front mud guard is rusted on top and Bottom so it will end up becoming a Cafe racer styled!
i have three ignition switches, a Bajaj minda one retro fitted which came with the bike although working.
A delhi make with plastic body which has the two point on off and another SLD Make (metal body) which seems Original but single point On & Off , it has 5 wires, hence the confusion.
Neutral light is grounded at the switch and needs a positive (Grey colour coded) should be coming through Ignition switch.
I have a long way to go by looking at the rubbers only!

You should have a positive connected to the lock, that will supply power to the horn and indicators. Mine is also grey for the neutral, but you cannot tell based on the color code alone. A multi meter is needed.
Regarding the mudguards, try and see if you can get a rajdoot rear mud guard, The mounting points are same, its chrome and it costs less than 1000 rs. A small mod to fit the chain cover is needed.
if you are going for chrome only the Rajdoot mudguard can be modified to be fitted(read 4 holes drilled) I am assuming you are using a stock front end.
If you need a fibre mudguard you can source one from a avenger(bolt on) or any plastic mudguard.
I also wanted a café racer, but looking at the rarity of an RD I would stay away from any cut/chop/ mod job. You can always buy something as good as a conti GT if you want a café racer. A 2 stroke café racer would be highly unpractical, especially if you know what a worn out sprocket would do to your back on a 2T Yamaha, you would know how bad can a café racer be for your back. I know a lot of people will debate otherwise, but how many café racers and daily rides?
Think about it :thumbs up

Its the front mud guard not rear. My idea is as attached in this PIC.
Its more of retaining the originality with a bit of mud guard jig!:)

I always like scramblers, I would like to build a DT1 replica if I could. This is something I would love to see in the flesh. I am against s cafe racer, reason too many being built. No one has actually built a muscular looking scrambler or a bobber like the one rajputana customs build. Let me know if you need any pics of any parts for reference during the build

Feeling very lazy, this is what happens, once I fix a bike I tend to live with the niggles. Wife is out of town starting today and I have a multimeter. I might do it by this week itself.
The mudguard you are looking is probably a Calcutta make. Its as expensive as you stated and it does not include shipping. For less than a 1000 Rs you will get a Rajdoot mudguard which looks exactly same(only a few or rather an experienced few can tell in the first glance). I am planning to change both my mudguards in the future. The rear one has to go first.
In other news the bike has completed 100 Kms, the left bank is running little rich and the right bank is right. The right carb is leaking but will be fixed by this weekend.
I have a cross over setup and the carbs are still little unbalanced but rides fine for a freshly build motor. Its heating as expected so my long rides are max 10 Kms long with a 30-45 minutes break. will take her for greater than 25kms rides post 500KM run in and more than 50kms after 1000km run in. during run in the max speed is going to be 40-50km/hour.

Yes that mudguard is from Rajdoot Excel looks familiar but it's a total wrap around the wheel!
Anyways, I did some carburetor adjustments too , my idle screws are 4 turns from close and the other some where near 1 1/2, Doesn't the crossover setup require different set of jets??
My one silencer is getting hotter than the other. Engine rebuilt is due anyhow!
Crossover setup, do share pictures though

look at the plug, you cannot say weather its running right with the turns on the airscrew. The cross over setup is nothing but 2 RX 135 manifolds connected with a tube, I have posted a pic few pages back. BTW points or CDI?

Right now , I can't say as I m not riding due to winters here.

Meters are fine, they were serviced, the RPM meter dances a bit, you can only tell if its accurate once you connect a digital RPM meter. Yesterday my friend pointed out that one of my meter illuminates in orange colour and the other is plain yellow, have to change it hopefully it will be done this weekend.

Inside Meters there are two orange plastic lens, the one which is in yellow either has the lens broken or fallen inside.
Any idea of Meters repair parts if available?

I have those orange lens, It's fixed now. Took her out for a spin she was backfiring bad, adjusted the airscrew a bit to make the left cylinder rich and it was sorted, did a small 5 km ride and came back home.
Meter parts are available at meter repair shops, if you need needles, lens on the metal strips they are available, those orange lenses in side the meters don't come anymore, replica meters are available for 2k but I have personally seen them, they look very cheap. My decision of getting the meter bowls plated had gone wrong, it has two 8 size bolts, one of which looks polished and the threads are missing, I know the female slots can be helicut can the bolts be helicut? The other option is to chop it and spot weld a 8 size bolt to it.
