BTW, i hope you didnt pay too much for the RD wiring loom. Its just some 650 bucks or so.

Agreed James, I spoke to Antony from dam motors, he is asking 25k for Ravi nagesh's kit. I don't have that kind of money now. I am just trying to get the bike started because this is what Ron had also suggested. I am willing to wait if there is hope at th end, in my case there is none. I can't imagine spending that kind of money on a ignition kit which doesnt even have warranty. The loom is 550 actually and ever heard of the term penny wise ?

One thing i can tell you, a good CDI system makes a heck of difference to the bike and Rons kits are one of the best i have come across and most reliable, once set up right.

The point setup never came with the bike, and it would cost me 5-7k to get the points setup. I am not inclined towards points. I wanted a maintenance free RD, and that can never be achieved if I am on points. I am in two minds, I have either met people who hate Ron or who praise him, when I talk to them most don't have any experience and all their views are based on their friends experience. The bike will start with a shogun kit, that's what I want as of now. I have an official trip lining up for Bangalore, hopefully Ron would have some mercy when he sees me in person

For the kind of money people are asking an MZB ignition from us sounds like a much better alternative.

Sweeeet mother of god! 25k? What is the world coming to? I could pick up a used but working RDD kit for less than that much. No wonder you are feeling so dejected.

Get it running on RX CDI, Coils, wiring for now and use the bike like that for the next year or so while saving up for a good ignition upgrade. There are more RD's out there running stuff from the RX than Shogun. Wiring is a cake walk too. Just remember to time it right.

Fix an appointment and go meet. Production is need based hence he does not commit.

Experience wise have used it on road bikes as well on drag bikes, and i can personally vouch for it. Even Steeroid is running em on his street bike.

Do consider, even a decent 2nd hand kit would suffice as a stop gap arrangement.

I contacted siyal, he has the same rx kit the local guy is offering, his price is 5.5k plus shipping, that would work out couple of 100 bucks less than the local procurement.

Just fried a shogun cdi so I guess the rx kit is the way forward. Or I can drop the bike to a local rd specialist who can make this contraption work, only problem is he is 13km away. Need to hire a loading auto to take it to him, the chances are this getting stuck for next couple of weeks, since it will be low priority.

Good to hear from a customer, most people act like fanboys it's difficult to separate the men from the boys. There are no decent kits available used, money upto 10k is not an issue but above that would be an issue right now. I guess I will go for the rx kit and time it right, or may be drop it at the mechs and pray he fixes I on priority and on budget. I am confused.

Just moments ago the bike fired and came to life.i spent lot less that I would have traditionally. I will run her in like this and I am saving for a good ignition system, which is not made by extra terrestrials

The bike is putting up a fight to go back, the tank is not fitting in, one side panel also needs a bit attention. Need to get a 135 wiring kit ans start assembling. Will keep he thread updated. Thanks do all your support.

Actually both, Will use the oil pump to supply extra oil during running in and premix otherwise, I have put 4 litres of fuel in the tank with 100 Ml oil, this should take care of the rust and hopefully my oil pump is working. The bike was over heating, looks like the timing is retarded, need to advance it as there was some backfire yesterday.

The idling is not perfect, will have to work on that, the wiring will start tonight.

Well congratz! so what did you use finally to start on ignition front?

Mark the ignition and set it properly and set the fuel mixture towards the richer side. This will help compensate the heating issue during running in. Also try to do the initial running in during early morning or late evenings to keep the ambient temp down. Slow but steady.

Really hope you didn't pay a fortune for those indicators. They are not NOS, but good fabricated replicas. I spent many months / years chasing old stock / used OE indicators for my RD(s) and these are not the real thing for sure.

I am sure the lenses have Rajdoot and the 1A1 part number printed beautifully, but they are made in Delhi (in 2015).

I wired the shogun cdi, used 2 victor coils to fire th CDI. The right cylinder Is rich, left looked lean. My gas tank I putting up a fight, it's not slotting in. Need to get the denter here an hopefully he I'll slide I back without much loss of paint

Check float levels for the carbs as well as the needle positions. Also check the tank tap, if the flow is almost similar to both sides.

Tanks slotting in - hope the bushes are of the right size? and seating fully into the peg thingy? New bushes can be tricky at the beginning and finally they settle down.

Agreed, fortune depends on person to person

For the money I paid and compared to the deals I was getting, these are brilliant. But any deal coul have been better

Relax, I paid Delhi price + 200 for each.

Th needles are getting stuck, the tap looks ok, I have not checked them, th needles are bad as of now. Ian in Bangalore next week, do ou kno if ny other bike's needles are suitable? Bullet may be?

Th bushes are new, tried with the old bushes as well an without bushes, it not slotting in and staying there. Hopefull Th denter would be able to do it.

Since you said new old stock, I had a feeling you actually thought they were genuine NOS items.
