The cycle build is complete. The crank build is complete. Engine is getting assembled as we speak. Hoping for the bike to be ready and running by this Saturday.

I am looking for some fork brace for my bike. can someone post a pic of some simple designs, one on Google is way to complicated.

Believe me Pramod, with THAT as the centerpiece in the living room, nobody really bothers about how the rest of the room looks. Except your wife, may be. In which case I can see you have the couch ready already!

JCMoto makes fork brace for Impulse.

http://jcmoto.in/shop/impulse-fork-brace/

Its obviously costly.

Some simple design here.

Wow Pramod! This is a very inspiring thread for fellow Bhpians. Well Done

And it is a lovely sight to have your love in the centre of the house when wife is not around

Best of luck, hoping to see the completed bike very soon!

Well said, I was awake the whole Saturday night filing the fork rings and the front monogram plate to accommodate the P 220 37 MM forks

Pramod,
Interesting build up, but why did you go for those silver reflective decals on the bike?
The originals came in non-reflective white and would very strongly recommend you to get them changed if the lacquering is still not done.

Dear Promod,
#Respect (to the person who gifted you the RD) to begin with.
Looking forward to seeing your bike after all the restoration are done. Do tell me where you live. Because I would certain love to visit you(r rd350). I can understand how hard it can be to find parts. I own a Suzuki Samurai and i have been looking for a reed valve with very little of no success. Cant find a reed valve, yeah, so I can imagine the effort and patience. Or I maybe I should find a Shogun or Shaolin engine. But more on that later. For now, do keep us posted.

Regards
Sooraj

Any particular reason for recommending the change?

You can pop in anytime after the build is over. Samurai parts are not impossible to procure. let me see if I can help. shogun/shaolin parts are difficult to procure. You can find a hell lot of spares here

Sooraj,
Reed Valves must be available in Bangalore, if you have any acquaintance reach out through them.

Thought the RX 100 Reed Valve is a straight fit...NO?

The reflective sticker/decals are a Big letdown from originality. An eyesore i would say. I would also suggest you to go with the non-reflective white colour.

Reed valves are all the same only for RD350 & RX100/135. Made by HTA. You should get them easily. Priced around 500-550rs each

Buddy, why do you paint all RDs with custom stickering with the same brush? I don't understand the originality bug that has bitten everyone one who sees an RD 350. Why can we have subtle hint of our own customization

I don't intend to offend anyone and I am a strong believer of the thought "to each, his own" Kindly enjoy what I am serving in a platter. Everyone who feels I should have stuck to the original scheme should see the end product.

This scheme has some deep thoughts in it. The mirror finish will die out in the night, at that time the reflective black(1.5mm thick) lines will come alive. The green is also meticulously chosen, its from the lotus catalogue.

Easy Mate, did not mean to poke at you. Green Color is pretty good for the RD and I did consider that color during the rejuvenation of my RD.

Shall wait for you to complete the process and then reserve my comments. You are doing a good job...Cheers.

re: Got gifted a Yamaha RD350. EDIT: Restoration completed

I dunno much about how RD's are supposed to look originally, but I think that that paintjob looks hella good.Love the black with white borderes

Regarding the force brace, I think that the RE Continental GT has one.Not sure about dimensions or fit though.
