After several months of spotting the Bajaj Pulsar 200SS on test, fresh images of a Pulsar touring bike have emerged. However, these images are of what is now being called the Pulsar 200AS (adventure sports). A touring motorcycle based on the 200NS.

The motorcycle features a medium sized transparent windshield that extends backwards for better wind deflection. The bike also features a projector headlamp that is offered on the semi-faired Pulsar 220. Additionally, the headlamp housing is fixed to the front semi-fairing i.e. the headlamp will not move in tandem with the handle bar and the functionality will be similar to that of the Discover 150F.

However, in every other aspect, the motorcycle doesn't appear to differ from the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS street bike. Reports suggest that this model will get fuel injection and moderate improvements in performance figures.

This would become an awesome Mid-Range touring proposition if offered with the 390Mill.. Currently our market has no other bike which is purely a tourer. Hope they bring it out soon will be a perfect upgrade from my CBR250.

Why give the bike semi fairing and call it a tourer? What a tourer needs most is the ability to haul luggage. If you want to make a tourer change the tail of the bike. I have a strong feeling this will be the new 220.

What's that bike in the background in the first pic. The engine case and the back wheel cover seem similar to the 200NS but the rest of the bike seems different.

It cant be a 220 upgrade because, the Engine Tank and the Frame is that of a 200NS.

I guess what you meant to say was this could replace the 220.

That is the Pulsar 200SS showcased at the Auto Expo.


So if this half-bikini faired bike also has the 200NS engine, that will make it 3 bikes with the same engine - 200 NS, SS and AS(?). I doubt it. But it looks quite comfortable to tour, I only wish it has the 390's 375cc mill.

Wow! Bike looks awesome and especially that headlight is super cool.This bike deserves fuel injection as its touted a tourer,if only wishes were horses.
