The refreshed Discover looks similar to the old bike except for the new graphics. It is powered by the same 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled DTS-i engine that produces 10.9 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Bajaj claims that the bike can deliver as CMVR certified fuel efficiency of 82.4 kpl.

The bike has a telescopic fork front suspension and twin nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping power comes from a 200 mm disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear.

The Discover 125 measures 2,035 mm in length, 760 mm in width,1,087 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,305 mm, ground clearance of 165 mm and a kerb weight of 120.5 kg. The bike rides on 5-spoke alloy wheels and an 8-litre fuel tank. Other features include a DC headlight and an electric starter.

Re: Bajaj launches refreshed Discover 125 at Rs. 52,002

Bajaj seems to be getting desperate to add some numbers to their sales chart, first the CT100,Platina and now resurrection of erstwhile previous gen Discover. Such moves would only damage the reputation of Bajaj on the long run.

Re: Bajaj launches refreshed Discover 125 at Rs. 52,002

I was a very big fan of the 1st gen Discover. It was a rage in the market at that time. People who couldn't/wouldn't afford the Pulsar, went in for the Discover. I remember I rode before it was launched in market as samples had arrived in showrooms. I was so impressed with its peppy DTSi engine, I so wanted to get one immediately. I knew it was impossible to replace our less than 1 year Caliber 115 but I convinced my friend's dad to buy it. He never regretted his decision and used to chuck the keys to me for a fun ride whenever I went to his place. He still owns the bike (>90k kms) as he never found a proper replacement for it and instead got a Aviator to use along with it.

The initial Discover was know to be rugged and problem-free with a rust prone exhaust pipe. But with the later iterations were found to be low on quality with frequent engine problems. I'm not sure if the current series of engines are good enough, but people seem to have lost faith in the brand due to the frequent changes, discontinuations and re-introductions.
