Key Facts

• Part of new strategy to expand to new mobility platforms
• More like a electric scooter to be used for small distances. VW calls out the example of having to park your car in a far off place and then using this to get to your destination (Instead of walking)
• Has a range of ~20km
• weighs only 11kg
• Can be folded and will fit into the boot
• Expected to launch in UK in 2016 at a price of ~1000 pounds ( Rs 70,000)
• Other similar examples include the Segway PT which failed due to the steep price tag.

This is similar to the 1981 JDM Honda city with the 50cc scooter mounted in the boot.

It was also available together with the Motocompo, a special 50 cc 'foldaway' scooter constructed to fit in the City's small luggage area, itself designed around the Motocompo.
