re: BMW G310R & G310GS launched at Rs. 2.99 - 3.49 lakh

BMW should have given a twin cylinder at this price point. The yamaha yzf R3 looks real tempting now.

Not all buyers would buy considering it is TVS underneath, they will pay for the badge.

Lot of such examples exist in 4 wheel industry.

What is this BMW Motorrad Essentials? That too for 16500?

Also Insurance cost seems to be on higher side. May be we can save a couple of thousands by doing through some online channel - which is quite convenient also.

Wonder what they are offering in the BMW essentials package for 16k? While buying my MS Baleno, Maruti offered an accessories package for 11k for the car.

This 4.36 lakhs is minus RSA. So if we add RSA and two years extended warranty it might as well go up to 4.7-4.8 lakhs.

No no sir, RSA wouldn't cost that much.

I think the brochure states the EMI as 7999/- along with RSA.

The RSA costs 21,239 and somebody has posted the price list from Bavaria motors Pune in the previous page. EMI of 7999 including RSA is fine but no mention of how many years and what is the down payment.

re: BMW G310R & G310GS launched at Rs. 2.99 - 3.49 lakh

If anyone of you have seen the service bay areas for BMW motorcycle showrooms in India, you will not be surprised by this pricing. They just dont have the infrastructure (space) nor the manpower (service advisors) to handle servicing of large volumes of motorcycles. Given these constraints, its easy to see why BMW has priced these bikes at these levels which are higher than what most BHPians wanted and / or expected. Im sure BMW would rather sell less motorcycles at these higher prices than have priced it say Rs 50-70K lower and sold a lot more bikes instead (thus earning the same amount of revenue).

Also, has anyone explored the service intervals and costs of these bikes? Are they reasonably priced / cheap / expensive?

All said I done, I think BMW and TVS have made a mistake by developing a platform with a power output that wasnt hitting the upper end of the A2 license spectrum. When the competition is at the 42-43 PS level, the BMW and TVS motorcycles dont stand a chance in real world performance with the 34 PS output. If and when the mythical Adventure 390 gets launched at EICMA and then hits Indian roads, it will gobble the 310s for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If and when ......

Same that I have been saying for a couple of months now. However, the 310R is priced above that expectation of mine as well.

310GS is spot on where it would attract niche sales IMO. Kawasaki X300 is dead totally now.

Does that mean that Kawasaki might go for course correction on X300 & bring it in direct competition with GS. To be honest, Many of us were waiting for GS and X300 and pricing of both have been absurd. Many like me have their hopes pinned on 390 adventure now. Must add that this wait have been very long and never ending so far

I think its decent pricing. While KTM continues to be most VFM, G 310 gets BMW badge. G310 is probably the cheapest BMW one can afford.

BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS launched in India

BMW has launched the G 310 R street bike and G 310 GS adventure motorcycle in India. The bikes are priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh and Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Re: BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS launched in India

The prices are stratospheric, to be honest.
A price cut by Rs 50K, would have made it a compelling package.

However, the GS has little competition, unless Kawa decides to gate crash the party, by removing the X300's un-necessary accessories, and pricing it within striking range of the GS310.

310GS will do good numbers for sure, don't think kawasaki will take it easy, expect something changing with versys soon.
So ODmag says bookings are 60:40 in favor of GS .. but still substantial numbers for 310R. With already a waiting period of 2-3 months - looks like a success already for BMW.
