Hyosung GT300R & New GT650R Coming Around June: DSK -

for the first time there comes an official confirmation of both the GTs – GT300R and the new GT650R, coming to us and as early as next year at an expected time frame of June or thereafter.

The smaller GT300R is set to replace the current GT250R. It sports a 275cc 75 degree V twin mill producing 28 PS of maximum power at 10,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm (up from 22.07 Nm). It sports a dual channel ABS as standard (not present on the current GT250R) and a more aggressive looking head lamp.

The refreshed GT650R gets a 90 degree V-twin 647 cc mill producing 74.4 PS of power and 54.4 Nm of torque (drops from 60.9 Nm). This though is more aerodynamic than the outgoing version and is set to be lighter as well. The fuel tank capacity sadly comes down by 2 litre to 15 litres overall

Despite the increase in engine displacement, power does not seemed to have improved relatively in the GT300R. In comparison, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R produced 33 bhp and the upgraded Ninja 300 produced 38 bhp, which is an increase of 5 bhp. I am assuming Hyosung must have reduced the compression ratio. But, why?

With the 650R, I hope they have managed to improve the buzzy nature of the engine.
