Yamaha unveiled its all-new scooter - Cygnus Ray-ZR, for the Indian market.

The Cygnus Ray-ZR is a sportier looking scooter based on the regular Ray Z:

Re: Yamaha @ Auto Expo 2016

So MT-09 is not in the plans for Yamaha. Thats pretty disappointing. I was looking for MT-09.

Except the M1 nothing look enticing. Is that R3 or the MT-03. By the look of seats its looks like R3 but the handle bar looks like a street version. May be my eyes are failing on me

Re: Yamaha @ Auto Expo 2016

Great looking new scooter. Not sure how long those gold inserts will last but it seems like a head turner. And good to add Disc brakes to the equation as well.

Coming to the MotoGP bike, I find it funny that they chose the '46' bike instead of that of the reigning World Champion Lorenzo's '99'.

Maybe Rossi is a more household name in this country with respect to Moto GP. But they could have had Lorenzo's as well

Re: Yamaha @ Auto Expo 2016

Err, so what is Yamaha working on this year? No new bikes? I feel, they missed a trick by not showing their concept car. Indians love Yamaha and they would happily upgrade to its car as well when it is launched.

Re: Yamaha @ Auto Expo 2016

Disappointing show, there. Wish they had atleast bought a middleweight to judge market reaction if nothing else.

Which pic are you referring to? MT-03 is a naked. It cannot be mistaken with the fully faired R3. Although I believe the MT-03 is a much better proposition for the Indian market sans the plastics, the Indian consumer would lap up a faired bike relatively faster than an equivalent naked.

Feeling extremely low, I have been waiting forthe yzfR6 for so many years to be officially launched from Yamaha. I dont think it is coming soon, if it was not for the 800 cc rule for import I would have imported it long back.

That seals it. I was disappointed till i heard this and slightly over priced by 2 L. Not sure if it will pull crowd from a Z800, but, hey its a Yamaha and this 115BHP engine is a stonker.

I am going to plan for a loan right now and start dreaming about this. Thanks for the news. Or wait till yamaha realize it's priced too high and do a cku.

And regarding r6. The mr03 is cbu. So just ask Yamaha to get one via CBU paying exorbitant taxes.
