Re: Aprilia SR 150 unveiled at the Auto Expo. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 65,000

Does any know if it is possible to buy a new factory-assembled engine for the regular SR150. If yes, how much would it approximately cost..?

I have booked updated version of SR 150. But, reading through the forum, it seems Aprilia SR 150 has got many niggles.

Should I go ahead? Please advise.

Don't buy it if you want a no nonsense machine with which you can do your local grocery trips and your daily commute. If a refined, comfortable and practical commuter is what you want, then there are much better options elsewhere.

The SR150 is uncompromising in its endeavour to be the sportiest scooter in India. It has a super stiff suspension, hardly any practicality and an unrefined engine. And yes, it does have it's fair share of niggles.

On the other hand, if you are looking forward to have a blast on the excellent Kottayam roads, then the SR150 is second to none. That stiff suspension and the big tyres come into their own in the twisties.

The current model seems to have some new features like a digital cluster and adjustable suspension at the rear. Also, Aprilia seem to have ditched the Vee Rubbers and have switched to MRF as their OE supplier.

Thanks for your kind words. I read your review and my story is almost similar. During college days, I too cried for a two wheeler, never got one due to safety reasons.

After years, I got attracted to one unique ride, the Honda Navi. I bought it two years back. It is an absolute fun to ride machine. I sold it to buy SR 150 as I felt the need for more power. Practicality is not an issue for me. All I need is Fun on two wheels.

Yeah, the Navi really is a little bucket of fun, isn't it .

Go for the Aprilia, mate, it loves to be ridden hard. Looking forward to your ownership experience.

Took delivery of my Aprilia SR 150 yesterday.

Originally booked, black variant. Last minute, made change of colour when I saw a new colour in stock, the red with black decals.

Looks good. Enjoy your new wheels.

By the way last month when I was in Trivandrum saw a lovey blue shaded SR150. Was that colour available in Kottayam

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Blue colour was readily available. But I didn't like it.

Hence had to wait for fresh stock.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 unveiled at the Auto Expo. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 65,000

Took delivery of my Aprilia SR 150 in the blue shade today. Blissful ride back home from the dealership which is around 23 kms away, this scooter is pure fun, you can’t skip the sly smile when you experience how it handles

I chose to go with Shrey Automotive in Hyderabad as they seem to be responsive to queries and keep following up with the customers with planned rides and meet-ups for Vespa and Aprilia owners.

In the process of writing a detailed buying experience thread. There were some goof ups though in the pricing and delivery experience, more on that later.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 unveiled at the Auto Expo. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 65,000

I am looking for a used SR 150. I found a 2017 make Race edition which has run about 7K and looks to be in good condition. I plan to use scooter for short trips and have no plans to use for hauling grocery or heavy goods .

I have couple of queries
1. Can women ride this? I haven't seen many riding.
2. Is there any full face helmet that the storage can accommodate?
3. How is the ride quality in comparison to Activa?
4. I feel 60K +-2K is a decent price here in Bangalore. Is this a good price?

I have been using an Oct 2016 purchased model. It's been close to 3 years but touchwood it has not given me any troubles. Coming to your question find below my personal opinion :
1) the seat height is higher than other scooters. Resting both feet will be a challenge for someone shorter that 5'5".
2) Full face helmet will not fit in.
3) Ride quality is very harsh. I feel like I am on a magic carpet when I ride my wife's Jupiter.
4) Price seems ok.

Lot firmer compared to almost all gearless scooters. If you're looking for comfort and practicality, its better to look elsewhere

As another member posted above and what I meant was ride is really stiff compared to any other gearless scooter. Not a practical family scooter for sure.
