The Piaggio Group showcased products from its Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa brands at the 2016 Auto Expo. The company unveiled the Aprilia SR 150 Sport-Scooterbike for India at the event.

Aprilia Moto GP RS

Alvaro Bautista's Aprilia RS-GP MotGP racer has an aluminium twin-tube frame, an aluminium swingarm, an Ohlins fully-adjustable magnesium telescopic fork suspension at the front and an Ohlins pro-link suspension at the rear.

Power comes from a 1,000cc, 4-stroke, DOCH, 4 valve, V4 engine that puts out 251 BHP, which is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a claimed top speed of 350 kph.

Other features include Brembo disc brakes, a titanium PBR sprocket and an Akrapovic exhaust. The bike has a 24-litre fuel tank and a dry weight of 160 kg.

The SR 150 is a Sport-Scooterbike powered by a 154.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke petrol engine that develops 11.4 BHP and 11.5 Nm of torque. It will be launched in India in August 2016. Piaggio will manufacture it at it's plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.

Wow just loved the coverage of Piaggio range of two wheelers in our very own Team BHP. The SR 150 looks really good and an apt addition for our market.

The Moto Guzzi bike look great, hope they bring it on soon enough (or have they already?) and the WI-BIKE looks really cool. Amazing stuff on display there. Feel like buying each one of them on show there

Wow that GTS 300 looks sweet. It will be really fun to ride in the city, isnt 220mm front disk a little smaller for the power it makes? The rear carrier reminds me of LML vespa select. Hope it will be launched in Indian market.

Excellent coverage of the Piaggio Stall.. Sure that I myself may not have gone in such detail if I was there in person.

We were never blessed with Limited edtions in scooters like the Armani Edition of Vespa. And for me thats the most beautiful scooter i've ever seen.

And of course Moto Guzzi's they look more practical and affordable than the Americans.

Awesome coverage Aditya. That's a great collection of 2 wheelers Piaggio has got under its umbrella. But unfortunately they are not able to penetrate into the Indian bulk volume market of 2 wheelers. I guess one of the main factor is the pricing. Especially when it comes to scooters, Vespa sells for almost a 10-15k premium than the other normal scooters available in the market. In a market like India customers tend to buy the most reputed and common VFM two wheelers like Honda's, TVS's, etc. Styling and/or quality factors (which these Vespas are all about) are not yet pushing the sales atleast in the scooters business in India.

I wish Vespa could offer some of those scooters in India too. Especially the 946 Armani...loved it... got to give to the designer for coming up with such a pleasing fusion design and marrying the retro charm to the latest trendy fashion.

Piaggio WI-Bike looks quite interesting, any idea if it is going to be launched in India. I checked their website and when you select 'change country' option, India is not on the list. Hope it gets launched, would definitely consider to buy it if it costs within 50k.
