Yamaha has just launched a bike targeting the commuter segment at a starting price of Rs 46,400 (Ex. Showroom, Delhi)
Featuring a 110cc mill mated to a 4 speed gerabox, it produces around 7 BHP and returns a good efficiency of 82kmpl for the 'Kitna deta hein' junta.
Available in four colors and two variants, they disappointingly don't come with an option of Disc brakes.

Details available here http://auto.ndtv.com/news/yamaha-sal...46-400-1395086

Though using the moniker 'RX', it doesnt hold a candle to the erstwhile RX which is a legendary 2 stroker known for its high pickup and sweet music to the ears silencer note.

Sarcasm Start

Thank God! Finally, I have something to replace my RX135s with!

Sarcasm End

When will you learn, Yamaha? No matter how many Rs and Xs you add to your 7 bhp bikes (cRuX, eh?), they won't make us all teary-eyed and nostalgic!

It is justified though. It does not say it is an "Rx" family, it says its "Saluto Rx" meaning saluting the Rx. It is like anybody can salute the Major of a head. lol:

Yamaha has launched the Saluto RX commuter motorcycle in India at a price of Rs. 46,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It replaces the Crux in the company's model line-up.

The Saluto RX has a diamond frame with a telescopic fork suspension at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It measures 2,020 mm in length, 740 mm in width and 1,045 mm in height. The bike has a wheelbase measuring 1,255 mm, a ground clearance of 175 mm and a wet weight of 98 kg.

Powering the Saluto RX is a 110cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve single-cylinder engine that develops 7.4 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm. Yamaha claims that this unit has a more compact combustion chamber than its previous 110cc models. The company also claims that the Saluto RX offers a fuel economy of 82 kpl. Stopping power comes from 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear.

Other features include an analogue instrument cluster, 17-inch alloy wheels and a single contoured seat. The Saluto RX is available in four colours - Matte Black, Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black.

For any RX100 / RX135 owners, that translates to "It is time to stock up on mudguards, folks! We will stop supplying them very soon!".

Not sure if this single down-tube frame is a step forward or two steps backward, considering the Crux had a pretty rigid double cradle chassis. This looks more like Yamaha did some 'value engineering' to keep costs low.

Analogue instrument cluster, single contoured seat - you know when a bike maker is trying hard to come up with some features for their new motorcycle launch! :D

And Yamaha's colour choices and graphics leave a lot to be desired. They could have made it a bit simpler and classier I feel.

Oh god. The designers decided to pick every bad part of bikes ever made to physically design this bike.

What was wrong with the RX135 style. Just stick to the style with latest engine and parts.

This is the worst looking bike ever made. Period.

What has been on the mind of the 4 gentleman during the press release?

Excuse my poor paint skill.

Hello, I have a Yamaha Saluto RX, I need some mod advice, is there anyone who can help me?
