Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to replace the Avenger engine with Pulsar 150cc engine. I actually want a bike like avenger also giving good millage. I dont want cruicing charecteristic. So thought of changing the Avenger Engine to Pulsar 150cc engine, which might give a millage of 50-55kmpl and also good enough performance.

I am in bangalore, So please tell me where i can get it done, if it is possible. What are the +ves and -ves of this modification???

Regards
Shashanka

Get an enticer: almost as big as the avenger with an engine as fuel efficient as the 150 dtsi.

i think it would be a simpler task to hook a enticer up with better brakes than trying to bolt on an entire 150 dtsi motor to the avenger chassis.
looks: i think enticer is more a less a copy of the avenger, don't see much difference.

I have only heard of people trying to improve their steeds. Come on dude, I think you are trying your best to spoil a good machine if you are really going to carry on such a mod. Mileage is not everything and there are so many things beyond that. No offence meant though.....

Since your looking more at mileage here are a few thing you could do

Get you mechanic to detune your carb(lean burn)Cheap but performance will suffer a bit.

Remove that fat tire at the back and replace it a p180/150 rim and tire.

Replace your gearbox with the the eliminator's one if you can get your hands on it.Nothing like kawasaki refinement..better gearing too i guess..no unnecessary shifting.

Fit a k&n and ride the way you normally do.

Since you hav a tacho, try to keep your revs below 3k rpm.

Please avoid going near your engine as youll suffer an even worse drop in mileage if engine work is not carried out properly.

While you're at it, get the heavier Avenger body swapped for a TVS Scooty body that's very light. Will give you tremendous mileage

why do u want to fiddle with the engine?? there is only 10km/ltr difference between a 180cc and a 150cc..ride the bike properly and u will definately give around 45km/ltr... instead of wastng so much money on replacing the engine put petrol in your tank.. btw people buy an avenger to cruise.. if u dont want to cruise then why dont you buy a pulsar 150???

Why dont you do one thing...
as it is you dont prefer the cruising characteristic plus you dont want a big engine which reduces the mileage...
why dont you sell this one for a decent price and buy sumthing of your likes...
like a 125 or 150 cc...
because instead of fixing a new engine which costs as well and then trying to refigure out everything ...
which btw in the process will definitely coz u more expenses than actually riding with the 180 engine with the 10km difference? it will really render the bike useless after a while...
Just enjoy the ride buddy!

DO YOU THINK ITS WORTH THIS MUCH ENERGY!

I dont have Avenger

I dont have Avenger bike with me now.. I want to buy one. Actually i wanted comfort first. I do like pulsar 150cc. But, looking at comfot Avenger is my dream. so thought of changing the engine for mileage.

Everyone is telling that, dont change the engine.. so ok.. let me go for either Pulsar150, or unmodified Avenger!!!

Thanks and regards

As far as I know, the Avenger doesnt have a tacho......

And less than 3K RPM on a Pulsar means you will hardly be moving :P

OK, If you are looking at comfort (priority 1), then FE (priority 2), then go buy a pulsar 150 DTSI and get a bolstered seat foam. I do not see either Avenger or Enticer a comfortable bike. I have ridden both and they appear to be comfortable for some distance and later it is pain to raid.

On the other hand Pulsar is very comfortable except for the narrow riders seat. I got it fixed by some seat cover guy and it is as comfortable as any other bike. (I like the seating comfort of RE bikes though).

FE not compromised.
