thanx a lot all you guys.....

@Karthik

Engine : both are 4 stroke , single cylinder , air cooled
Engine displacement : Karizma 225 cc----Pulsar 178.60 cc
Max Power : Karizma 17 bhp at 8000 rpm-----Pulsar 16.5 bhp at 8000 rpm

Both have front discs and rear drums.both have mag wheels.

Thats why when i said that what i meant is besides a few things the performance of the two are similar.

Just a correction Zma produces 17bhp@7000 rpm. Performance might be similar but the way these two bikes handle\behave is way different

@revtech - How are you so confident that you'll get Michelins / Barracuda for 17 inchers?

n yeah.. what is this barracuda thingy? for bikes?

from what i know, the M45 s imports have also stopped.

well i remember reading that some where but i maybe wrong.so sorry for the wrong piece of info.

any way i have not mention that pulsar is a better performer than the karizma any way in my post so i dont see the need to argue with this. The Karizma maybe a better performer but what im tryin to say is that the pulsar isnt far behind.

Excellent review Revtech beautifully written and your bike looks amazing. Fear the Black?

The 180 Pulsar accelerates faster then a ZMA to 60 and then its the ZMA which takes the cake.

well " The stupid Plastic Cover " came with the bike and the dealer suggested i keep it on for the monsoons to prevent the seat from gettin soaking wet.and when you look at the bike it isnt really noticible unless you see it closely.any way thanx for the suggestion.

Hey revtech nice review. Anyways the gearbox has improved a lot compared to the initial lot of the P180. But believe me or not, the best and the smoothest gearbox is that of the Honda Unicorn. Nothin beats it. The Karizma does look good in yellow and red. But its too tall and that spoils the look.

Anyways coming back to the Pulsar Black, just take care of the Black. Have heard of the paint peeling off. Put a nice pair of clip-ons on it now.

got my bike back from the first service and it feels really smooth.i dont think they have changed any of my settings.everything seems fine.will just check out the FE now and keep you guys updated.the service manager told me they use Castrol GTX.now isnt that for cars because i remember reading that somewhere. but it feels really smooth so its k.but i still have a slight squeakin noise coming from my rear shocks.any idea what that could be.

DONOT use castrol GTX. Thats a CAR 20W40 oil.

Use the regular 20W50 available from the better-off service stations.
Go for Power1 (not power1 JetX) if you dont have any choice.

Revtech am not saying X bike is better than Y bike, all i am saying is that though they ahev similar power figures they behave quite differently. I have onwed both & so know

I have used Power 1(In my 180 DTSi) for over 10k kms now & can surely say that its an amazing engine oil, you can feel the difference in smoothness & pickup.

Also irrespective of what the manual says keep chaning the engine oil around 1700-2000 kms your engine will be in great shape My 180 is still on stock clutch plates after 29k kms :-)

but isnt Castrol Power1 20W40 ?? and does it meet the requirement of the 180 ??

because many people have told me that there is no oil which is absolutely perfect for the 180 so im really confused which oil to use.

My bikes done close to 1500 kms so i wanted to change the oil.so thats why i wanted to know which one to use.
