little late for this review but thought that I should add something.

I own a DTSI 180 April 2004 model done 13000KM.
The bike is very stable and gives a feeling of confidence even at 110+.
I have taken her to 120 with a pillion. never tried it alone (I am afraid I will fly off the bike
It is heavy.
The E starter went kaput because one of my family member pressed it hard in the morning and kept it pressed till the motor burnt. (Hey!! what happen ... I didn't do nothing .. )
The kick was very hard for few MONTHS it is ok now even then it is very hard for the first timer.

Breaks are good specially the disc is the best.
Accelaration is great.
Shocks are very tough I feel like I am riding a bycycle at 40kmph on potholes or bad road, I can feel the springs and the hydro (mine is not gas charged) if I am not sitting on the bike alone. The ride is soft when there is a pillion. (Is that by design since tough shocks give stability at high speeds?)

False neutrals are a problem.
Gears stuck sometimes when you need them (when stuck in traffic and in cutting the traffic they seems to stuck often and automatically a audible Mad..Ch.. can be heard from my/your mouth) the trick is not to be soft with your foot on the gear shifter.

Never gave me more then 45kmpL
Never went to a garage other then scheduled services.
Never gave up on me when I need it most. In summers and winters of north.
Fastest of any indian bike on road till now.
Do I wanna sell it: hell NO.

But, I drive a Viva CRDi .

Pulsar 180 dtsi 700 Km Review

I seen a Pulsar Black 180 with completely different headlight set, white indicators, rear tail-light was white too. Moreover the rear panels had sharper lines instead of a bulky rounded shape. The best of all is that it had a huge digital speedometer, analog rpm meter with maybe a shift-light. It had a BAJAJ badging inside.

The confusing part is I couldn't find this bike anywhere on the Bajaj website. Is there any plans for a new launch or something?!

The bike is owned by a friend, who is also a bike dealer. And he says its not modified.

Couldn't find a relevant pic.

If you were talking about this bike, its different. This is a 225cc bike.

The one I seen was a 180 but it has the same side panels as this bike has. The indicators are white, not orange. The headlight fairing is the same as the old Pulsar, but different headlight unit.

yea gordon thats the new 180 that you saw.few changes made to the side panels and the headlight and equiped with a digital speedo and self cancelling indicators and LED tail lamps.

but when i went for a ride, i noticed while accelerating the digital speedo doesn move through the digits smoothly it goes like 22-31-43-57.

hope you get what i mean.

i agree Gordon.i dont know but theres just something about the rear that makes it look incomplete.

this is the pic of the version before the latest see how the tail light perfectly fits in above the reflector

and in the new version due to the LED the gap is increased giving it and unfinished look.

yeah...it's the new P180... looks sexy if you ask me ....

the best part is the digital speedo and the backlit rev counter !!

OT: I want to know if I can get my old 2004 model P180 DTSi modified to the digital speedo and the new rev counter....shouldnt be too difficult right ??
