Hi Sir,

Even I have been browsing on the same since a week and almost finalised it. I'm doing it through Cover Fox website.

Initial premium paid: ₹ 17xx (don't remember)

Went to Cover Fox website and filled in the details:

IDV: ₹49,006
Total Premium: ₹ 1,271 (To be paid)

Attaching the screenshot from the website

Any thoughts?

Looks good!

Did you buy this on NIA's website or through Coverfox?

Would it be a good idea to call the dealer and check if they have a "preferred" vendor/cashless facility with a select group?

Mine is the 3G so I think an IDV of 40-45k should be ok.

PS: no Sir business please

I did it on Cover Fox. Didn't bother visiting New India Assurance website.

I'll check once with the dealer and see if they have any preference. If yes, will do a comparison and decide which to choose.

Since the renewal is on 9th June, 2017, I'm waiting.

I got the last free servicing done and the insurance renewal as well.

The 4th free service bill came to Rs. 371.

When I spoke to the person handling insurance renewal, he said he can get it done within 5min.

The renewal policy with Oriental (same as earlier) came to Rs. 1790. This is more than Rs. 300 higher than my existing policy because- a) the first policy had some Rs. 293 discount, b) third party rates have gone up

When I told him about online rates being cheaper by Rs. 500, he gave me the usual gyaan about how this will be easy when it comes to claims etc.

I just did not want to argue or go through the trouble of finding a policy that would be accepted, no questions asked.

Honda two-wheeler dealers are such an arrogant bunch. To piss me off further, he said he'd charge me 2.5% for a credit card. Ended up walking a km to an atm to withdraw. So much for the cashless dream.

I have stopped visiting Honda ASC to be frank. Last service done in July'2016. Never visited them ever again.

I hope you read through this thread:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motorb...arburetor.html

Post this I hate them even more. Have lost all trust. Don't care about their warranty anyway.

I have renewed the insurances too with the same details posted a few posts above. Here's the summary:

IDV: ₹49,006
Premium: ₹ 1,271
Insurer: New India Assurance.

Odometer Update

Review: Honda Activa 125 (Pearl Amazing White). EDIT - Now sold-img_20170529_144122600x1067.jpg

It has crossed 3070 kms as of today (missed clicking the image at 3000) and no issues of inconsistent idling or judder or engine stalling.

Idling is consistent now and the acceleration from 0 kmph too is smoother (now it feels like owning an 'Activa'). The same smoothness, power delivery and acceleration that I used to experience in my colleagues Activa 125, is now felt on mine too. Thanks to BHPian interc00led for that. Very happy with the scooter now.

At 4K will do the oil change myself and have a look at the spark plugs.

Two pending issue to be solved:

One is the rattling and loose fit panels on the body. Have to spend some time to arrest the rattles.

Second two areas on the scooter where something had rubber against causing some paint to go off (images attached)

MODS planned (In thinking mode)

1. Change the spark plug to Iridium one

2. Paint the steel wheels to matte black/black.

Wanted to migrate to alloys but alloys + drum brakes don't go well. If it is alloys it has to be disc brakes. So given up on that mod).

I went through the thread; quite shocking! But then, you could pull it off because you know what and how to do things. I don't

I'd love to not visit the A.S.S. but I'm not adept at DIYs as you are; nor do I know a reliable mechanic around. So, as much as it cringes me to go to Honda, I have to!

I almost decided to get the insurance renewed myself but I don't want to engage in the whole "you didn't renew the policy through us so this isn't covered and that won't be cashless" argument.

But yes, now that the free services are over, I'll try to ween off the A.S.S.

re: Review: Honda Activa 125 (Pearl Amazing White). EDIT - Now sold

I have purchased a new honda activa 125 bs-4 on 18th April 2017. Since then i am facing an issue of engine noise when the bike is started in the mornings or when left idle for sometime. I got my bike serviced on 30th May 2017, engjne oil changed and this issue was told to the service advisor. However the issue still is persistent. Can anyone help me out regarding this? I also have taken a video of the same. This is the link to it :
There are many users facing this issue and some have uploaded videos on YouTube as well.

I think it is the kick start rod retracting spring that is causing this noise. The kick start system is not going back to position 0 and interfering with the idling. Ask them to check and replace it.

How is the sound when engine is revv'ed a bit?

After its revved the noise disappears and completely goes after the engine gets warm. I will get the kick start mechanism checked by the ASC. Thank You

Also is the engine idling too low? Feels like it'll switch off any moment!

Get that set too.

This video is before service, i got the rpm low issue sorted out yesterday during first service. My activa used to shut off suddenly when i used to become slow at a traffic signal or while taking turns. But this doesnt happen now.

Belated Happy Birthday to her!

She turned 1 year old on 10th June, 2017!! I totally forgot about the poor scooter. Busy running behind my cars health, forgot!

Review: Honda Activa 125 (Pearl Amazing White). EDIT - Now sold-img_20170621_192755.jpg

Its being used daily and is currently at 3,667 kms with no issue of erratic idling/shutting down at signals or while slowing down. Smoothness and drive-ability is back to what it should have been. My BIL is loving it (he's using it daily).

Current odometer

Have stopped visit ASC totally so post 4,000 kms, will be changing the spark plugs to iridium. Also see if she needs any tuning!

!

1. What's the mileage you are getting ?
2. You had earlier said alloy with drum brakes don't go well. Did you mean from a appearance wise or function wise ?

I am confused between activa 4g and activa 125. Which one you would have gone for if you had that choice now ?

My primary concern will be mileage, availability of spares in the Long run and low-cost of maintenance
