Recall: 54,700 units of New Suzuki Access 125 (2016 build)

Post identification of real axle / wheel stability issues, Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL), as a precautionary measure, is recalling 54,740 New Access scooters manufactured between 8th Mar 2016 to 22nd June 2016.

Under this campaign, rear axle will be inspected and replaced FOC. Plus, a free periodic maintenance service will also be offered to all such customers.

Suzuki dealerships will commence contacting vehicle owners from 13th July onwards.

I have purchased an Access 125 in the first week of June.

I read this news in the morning and approached the dealer. Upon my questioning, I was told that the said recall is for the 'all new' Access (i.e. the one with that scooter like head lamp) and not the regular Access. How do I cross check this?

Brilliant! Nothing like a freebie to get customers in. A free service is guaranteed to improve the response rate to this recall. The biggest challenge for manufacturers who issue recalls is, not too many customers come in for the replacement. GM's hit rate on the Tavera recall was ~20%.
