| ![]() Of course it is only my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree with me but, I think single channel ABS will do almost all that is needed to provide a safe ride. As many of you know, locking up the rear wheel produces some swerving or "tail wagging" of the rear of the motorcycle (or bicycle) but rarely will it cause a crash. In fact, I remember that as a child, locking up the rear wheel on my bicycle was rather common during hard stops and it never really caused me or the bicycle to fall. (I had a typical American bicycle with a rear coaster brake so the rear wheel was the only means of stopping.) Actually, locking up the rear wheel while coming to a stop was considered as "great sport" by us kids and we would do it often, on purpose. Locking up the front wheel on the other hand will almost always cause the motorcycle to be thrown down to the ground and the rider along with it. In all of my 50+ years of riding motorcycles, locking up the front wheel in a panic stop accounts for all of the times (which really isn't many) that I've crashed. If I had single channel ABS on my motorcycles I would be able to claim over 200,000 miles of crash free riding! Preventing the front wheel from locking up in a panic stop is the most important thing and a single channel ABS braking system will do that. That's why I say, Dual ABS might be of some help in a very few cases but Single channel ABS is absolutely necessary for having a safe ride. |

| ![]() A "Delivery Estimator" is added now in Jawa Motorcycles website. https://www.jawamotorcycles.com/delivery-estimator Anyone who had booked their Jawa can try and see whether this is indeed working as expected. ![]() |

| ![]() It is high time Classic Legends introduce a "Refund Estimator" as well. Date of booking: 01-12-2018 Date of Cancellation: 07-07-2019 Reasons for Cancellation : 1. Seat length/space for the pillion: The ample time to wait helped me realize the fact that I was compromising on my topmost requirement, i.e a comfortable daily commuter for me and my wife as a pillion. For us at least, the seat length/space is inadequate. The bike is smaller than my liking. 2. The dealer did mention that a realistic month for delivery would be October 2019, which is almost 10 months from my booking. That is a lot of time . Life , financial conditions and priorities change. 3. Till this day I have only seen 3 Jawa's on road. Lack of detailed reviews/information and no idea on what is different in the production version than the one people reviewed. I booked a month late expecting to see a bit more Jawas on road and more niggles addressed. 4. New/Revamped retro classics on the horizon. I am no expert here and no complaints as such on the bike I test rode, it is just that the reasons for cancellations were strong. I thought I can always buy one later on after checking out the RE's revamped classics may be. Now coming to the main reason for this post. I am yet to get my refund back and it has been a month I have cancelled my booking. Jawa customer care does respond to my weekly inquiries on the refund with standard replies, but I don't know what is the latest on my refund or when will the refund happen. The initial problem was that there is some mandate/rule from RBI on the refund, if it is happening after 180 days of payment. Classic Legends did provide a workaround by providing an option to raise a request with the payment gateway provider with account details to which the refund has to happen. I did that 3 weeks back and the refund should have happened in 72 hrs from then. Still no refund. I feel that the cancellation process is as unorganized as the booking. May be, I should ask for interest on each additional day they are keeping my money after the stipulated time for cancellation. Requesting help from members on this forum who cancelled their booking and got a refund. Last edited by CrAzY dRiVeR : 22nd August 2019 at 09:57. Reason: Typos |

| ![]() Shocking photos shared by owners of Jawa motorcycles. Rusting seems to be a huge issue. There is a bike inside a showroom on display, with the speedometer display needle broken ![]() |

| ![]() More images showing Jawa motorcycles with rusted parts as well chipped paint. Luckily, one dealer has agreed to replace the rusted parts, as well as repaint the bike for free. Source |

| ![]() "Jawa Owners & Lovers" facebook page is filled with these images and complaints. The latest batch seems to have addressed one issue, they changed the steering fork nut to aluminium plated one. Few of the (un)fortunate owners have been reporting these issues from day one. But, the fact that most of the issues still persist is not exactly confidence inspiring. I am not going to cancel my booking though, will be waiting to see how CLPL handles this now. Otherwise I have very good options in new 250s from Suzuki, I hope they have a cruiser (that doesn't look anything like the Intruder 150) in the pipeline. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I have been extensively riding my Jawa in Bangalore's on-going rains. Done with the first service. Niggles so far - Check engine light turns on occasionally, meter glass is getting moist and some rusts in the silensors' tip. Other than the niggles above, no other rust spots and the bike is performing quite well. ![]() My profession is Software Quality Analysis. I am obsessed with Quality in all other aspects of my life too. Looking at the pics in the previous post, I am keeping my fingers crossed. ![]() Daily office ride ![]() Daughter loves the Jawa and calls herself a Jawa Super Girl! ![]() Ride with my Daughter to her school bus pick up point ![]() Our safety gears ![]() Hill climb ![]() With the classics at home ![]() Last edited by arun1100 : 21st August 2019 at 23:25. |

You wish may be answered, albeit only partly. The good news is that I was told that a Suzuki cruiser with the engine from the new 250 platform might be coming soon. The bad news is that it will be the Intruder.

I did an online booking and the company itself is sitting on my booking money. What could be a reasonable interest on my booking amount ? I am thinking of registering a complaint here http://nationalconsumerhelpline.in/ComplaintFile.aspx and start asking for refund through the twitter accounts. There should be many who are yet to their refund and as confused as I am.

Write a detailed email to the customer care with all details of booking, order number, date of cancellation, number of days since your cancellation was confirmed from your side etc. I would say, insist on getting interest in line with what your bank is giving you. If they are giving 7.5% interest, insist on that. Tweet to Anand Mahindra himself. This appears to be a really serious issue. I would even suggest that you create a new thread on this so that it gets all the right attention and spurs Jawa Motorcycles into corrective action. It really is quite appalling to see this behaviour from what is otherwise known to be an ethical company. And to think that Jawa Motorcycles was the company that was going to dethrone Royal Enfield.

| ![]() While the bike looks awesome and I was planning to get one to replace my 16 year old Pulsar, some of the images shared above is scaring me. Vin number etching is very crude ![]() Last edited by TorqueyTechie : 24th August 2019 at 13:41. |
