I am literally waiting to test ride this one as I do believe that the newer version will have a better riding position eventually resulting in a comparatively comfortable ride. Any idea if KTM will be offering a windshield as an accessory? That said, the TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity is absolutely amazing at this price range.

KTM's India site now also (surprisingly) lists the Duke 690 and Duke 690 R, both of which aren't available in India yet. Is this an indication of an impending launch of the higher capacity Dukes?

Surprisingly, as BHPian SwiftnFurious has pointed out, the upgraded Duke 200 (which has been spied a few times recently) isn't listed on the website.

Not only the 690's, but the website contains all the bikes KTM has in its worldwide portfolio. Guess we just have to wait till official announcements from KTM.

I owned a KTM Duke 390 White 2014 and sold it.

Now, while scrolling through the new launches of KTM at EICMA 2016, looks like time to buy a new KTM Duke 390 again.

It looks so fresh and the new features like new design, instrument cluster, new dynamics, better ride and handling expected.

I hope they have done something on the rider seat for better comfort while long tours, which was a big pain earlier.

Overdrive seems to claim that this will reach the shop floors as early as February'17 but if past experience is
anything to go by, I've generally seen the new bikes arriving no earlier than April(-end). Eagerly waiting to test
drive this. I really hope those additional 3NM have gone in to improve the low-end grunt.

I did not find this information anywhere, not even ktm india website. What's the source of the information regarding additional 3nm?

On a side note - I am not sure if the Duke 200 is going to be sold in India any more. There was no announcement on the Duke 200 from the KTM folks at EICMA, nor are there any images of the upgraded 200 on KTM's site.

What seems plausible therefore is that KTM is replacing the Duke 200 with the 250 in India. The Duke 250 is listed on several of KTM's websites such as the Indonesia and Malaysia sites, and the images and description on the sites seem to match the spy shots, including the LCD screen (the rest of the Duke lineup has the TFT screen).

Is it 3mm or 30 mm raise in the seat height? The brochure says 830mm riding height, which is very high for an average Indian. I am middle-of-the-road tall at 5'10", and will struggle to get both feet firmly on ground with 830mm. The average Indian male height is 5'6"!!

Not sure what the truth is.

But I'm a little confused here, the article says "KTM says in places as much as 3Nm extra torque is available which dramatically changes the performance and feel of the motorcycle" - this means that the torque curve has changed, maybe the total torque figures are just the same(I could be wrong here), the change in the torque curve affects the performance now. What do you think?

Hello Siddy,
following all the hoopla that KTM/fan-base has successfully been able to rake-up pre-launch, they've tried to point in a direction which implies that this is going to be a better motor-cycle than the out-going one. What you've said is definitely a possibility but I'm hoping that it's an additional 3NM early on in the rev-range because their ECU changes haven't produced an increment in power (not that 390 lacks in it's class). I hope it has at-least come to fruition on the torque figures.

Looks like we will be the first one to get all new KTM Duke 390 and according to Indian Autos Blog and Rushlane, the bike is going to be launched in India in first week of January itself and deliveries will commence from April 2017. Lets hope they price it right.

In other news, 2017 Duke200 and Duke 125 have also been unveiled. The main visual difference between D390 and D200 is there is no split headlamp.
