About half of Dominar's production is exported every month

According to a media report, about half of the Bajaj Dominar 400's production is exported each month. The company dispatches around 4,500 units of the bike every month out of which 2,500 units are exported. This figure is expected rise once the bike goes on sale in Australia. Currently, the Latin American and some parts of the ASEAN are the important export markets for the Dominar.

Bajaj launched the Dominar 400 back in December 2016. The bike was received well in the Indian market and was clocking decent numbers at the beginning of this year after which the sales slowed down. The company believes that it will take some time for the Dominar brand to gain ground in the Indian market as it is contending against Royal Enfield.

The Dominar is powered by a 373 cc, liquid-cooled engine which produces 34.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.

Bajaj Auto plans to sell over 4 million bikes by the end of this fiscal. The company's domestic sales are expected to be in the range of 2.3 million and the remaining 1.7 million units will be allotted for exports.
