The Suzuki 155cc Intruder. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 98,340

I believe a good option to the Avenger 150 is coming up. The design theme is not so clean though; at least not according to my liking.

Quote:
The Suzuki Intruder 150 gets LED projector headlight, aerodynamic fuel tank and LED tail light. While the brochure images are not clear, it can be seen that the Suzuki Intruder 150 gets a generous bodywork that looks gaudy. Something that we can confirm only when we get to see the motorcycle in flesh. The Suzuki Intruder 150 also gets a twin-port exhaust, similar to what is offered on the Suzuki Gixxer series.

Powering the Suzuki Intruder 150 is believed to be the 154.9cc single-cylinder unit that does duty in the Gixxer range. The power and torque out of this motor is 14.8PS and 14Nm respectively. While the state of tune might be retained for the Suzuki Intruder 150, the company might also look at tweaking the performance to make it more suitable for highways.

If executed right, this might be the sharpest looking cruiser bike below 5 lakh Rupees or even more! Wish it had the inazuma engine or something powerful. The 150cc engine will help bring masses to this.

Suzuki makes amazing engines, and I still miss my GS150R even after Ninja 300 for its comfort and quality. Hope this bike continues the tradition.

Not sure if it is really confusing design or they wanted it to look that way in teasers !!

Honestly i would have preferred to have at least 250cc offering to even threaten RE.
This design doesnt look it will age that well. I may be wrong !! not a long wait

We finally have a successor to the Buell-Hero Karizma, I'd say.

For a 150cc, this bike looks like a cheap Karol Bagh mod job if not for the Suzuki badge.

Seen kids with better sketch designs in the last page of their classwork notebooks than what they have done with this.

You're Suzuki, the manufacturer of the legendary Hayabusa. Get a grip!

Nothing in this world, can compete with the abomination of Buell-Hero Karizma.

I think this design is good and follows the Intruder design language. I think it will look better than the bad scan of the image that we have here

Exactly what I'm worried about!

After Gixxer 150 and now Intruder 150 - I'm wondering when they are planning to come out with their Hayabusa 150!

What would it take for Suzuki to come up with new names for their smaller bikes? Rather than dilute the legendary names of their superbikes for their 150cc siblings.

This is an insult to the Intruder name itself. What were these guys thinking? Looks like they were given an unrealistic deadline and they coughed up this abomination.

The bike looks like a body builder who forgot "leg days"

This is one ugly bike and could compete with the Hero Honda design. And even if the design grows on me (which is not possible), it will still be an "all show, no go" bike with that engine.

As rightly pointed out by Crazy Driver, I pray that Hayabusa 150 is not in the pipeline.

More like a sprint runner who built his body but forgot about his legs, which are much more important.

Gixxer 155cc engine has won lot of praises, The torque delivery is pretty good for city and also is a decent performer upto 80-90kmph(RE 350 too struggles beyond that). Also i have heard multiple people say good things about the quality etc. Only letdown perhaps is the pillion seat(comfortable, but that angle makes pillion slide)

So no wonder they decided to milk this engine further. After i came to know that these bikes are made in the Maruti plant, i understood why this bike appears so bloated !!

Hope they have not gone overboard and this turns out more realistic when launched

re: The Suzuki 155cc Intruder. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 98,340

The bike looks comical, and cringe worthy especially with those out of place alloys, which looks like have been lifted off a sports bike.
The headlamp resembles old Rajdoots, and the tank shrouds look enormous enough to cover a whale.

Even the humble Bajaj V15 looks more proportionate than this.
This bike easily takes the crown of ugliest bike in India, from the current reigning champ (new Karizma).

P.S. No offence to potential buyers. Looks are a subjective matter.

Wow! so cool. First trash the icononic gixxer brand, with those super offerings.
Now a mash-up of an intruder, which is truly ugly.
Cannot wait for the 100cc hayabusa.

Suzuki seems to be losing the plot. Sad for a company which otherwise has great offerings in the bigger segments. Maybe they should just stick to scooters in the commuter space.
Ah! can't wait for the GSX-R Access!

Hey that is too rude now!

Don't you know that the Karizma was already pushed back to the second place by Yamaha's Fazer 250? This contraption has to compete with that Yamaha one now

Seriously, what is wrong with designers these days? India has much better taste, please stop ill-treating us like this.

re: The Suzuki 155cc Intruder. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 98,340

I think it is too early to call it ugly, beautiful, unconventional or basically a flop. The image in the brochure is way too grainy to figure out the details and for all we know it could also be much more toned down in reality. Alloys are a direct lift from the Gixxer it seems.

I personally would want something like this to get launched and challenge the 150 cc Avenger. People are buying it in boat loads and the streets are filled with them these days. Sure this probably means its a decent purchase, but perhaps this bike will wake Yamaha from their slumber and they will re launch the Enticer with a 250 cc engine!

Yes, I know I am wishing for a lot but then a biker can always dream

re: The Suzuki 155cc Intruder. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 98,340

Still underestimating the Indian market's appetite for mid-range bikes, I see.

At 150 cc, this is supposed to do what, exactly? Give the Avenger some competition in the category of cruisers that have moped-size engines? Wow, much innovation, such risky! /sarcasm

Even puny newcomer UM know that people want bigger engines that you can have some fun with, but also manageably ride everyday. And people are buying up that bike despite its large size and unproven / unknown brand badge. When will everyone else catch up?

Not everyone wants to choose between a cheap and sensible 150cc for daily use, and a 1500cc monster you can only ride ten times a year that costs more than a car. Many Indian bikers want to have their cake and eat it too.

So I'm taking a nap, everyone wake me up when the Avenger 400 comes out, or if Harley come to their senses and decide to release the Street 500 in India.

/apologies for rant

What is wrong with the Gixxer in the first place? Its a brilliant motorcycle.

Honda has done it before by giving "Hornet" title to a 150 cc.
