Mod Note: BHPian _nilaygandhi's Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Ownership Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Bajaj has launched an ABS variant of the Pulsar NS200. The bike is priced at Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The ABS variant carries over the naked sports bike look of the standard NS200. It measures 2,017 mm in length, 804 mm in width and 1,075 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,363 mm and weighs 154 kg (2kg more than the standard bike). Also, it gets a 12-litre fuel tank.

The NS200 comes equipped with conventional telescopic front suspension and a monoshock at the rear. The standard NS200 uses a 280-mm front disc brake, while the ABS version employs a 300-mm front disc brake in addition to a 230-mm rear disc. It comes with single channel ABS.

The bike is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 23 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Like the standard NS200, the bodywork of the ABS version is finished in a dual-tone theme. Standard colours include Wild Red, Mirage White and Graphite Black.

Their website says it's a single channel ABS unit akin to RS200. Would like to know from RS owners as what would be the biggest difference between single and dual channel ABS. Or maybe the dominar to RS ABS comparison should also help.

I am currently riding the RS 200 abs for the past two years.
Im explaining in my own words, better technical explanation is available on Google.
Single channel means just the front brake is equipped with the abs module, the rear one is not. However there is a sensor that is present at the rear only to provide information to the abs control module.

The dominar has dual channel ABS, both the front and rear brakes are abs assisted. In the rs200 if you slam the rear brake pedal the rear wheel will lock up. For me it wasn't to difficult to adjust to using the front brake more often as I had no prior two wheeler experience to develop that habit.

The dual channel ABS will give better stopping distances in straight line speed, better brake force distribution between front and rear, better rear wheel lift up control while the wheels don't lock.

Looking at the option of rear disc brakes that have been provided, means Bajaj is keeping the option of upgrading it to Dual channel ABS in the future when every other bike will have an ABS.
