Eddy Current Controls India Ltd , the chaps who gave India its first Microwave Oven back in 1989 (and failed because it was an idea who's time hadnt come) and sold it as the Batliboi Eddy, has/had an MD who is crazy about all things electric. Since the mid-80s he's been trying to make electric cars and bikes. He successfully converted a Ford Escort (rally spec version - not the one sold in India but 2 generations before Ford started operations in the country) and a Kinetic Honda to electric vehicles for personal use. He's a bit quirky but he would be your ideal starting point as he has made enough mistakes to have learnt from them.

If you go to their factory in Chalakudy or Coimbatore, just look out for a pair of legs sticking out from under any vehicle - that will be Mr. M D Jose, the MD (Mad Director). Not sure if he's still around but just go around to Eddy Current Controls (they make Dynodrives)

Electric bikes are already on sale in India...mostly in GUjrat. Made by Electrotherm india and called Yo bikes.

my idea is to convert used 2 strokes but not making new electric bikes.:Frustrati
