I couldn’t resist from posting this. It’s really a nice feeling as a bike enthusiast and a Pulsar 220 FI owner myself to witness Bajaj still going out strong with Pulsar Brand.

Born in 2001, it captured many enthusiasts almost instantly with its mean masculine looks which had a tagline for itself “Definetely Male” - I still remember the ads I kept watching on TV. That’s when I made up my mind to buy one such masterpiece in 2005 with 150cc avatar and then upgraded to 220 FI which is still with me. I did give my tribute here

2001 Pulsar 180 was my hot favorite in Black. It did give most of the bikes a hard run for its money.



2003 came the DTSI version of the bike that took the trend forward.



2005 DTSI V2 with alloys was introduced. This kind of grabbed more and more teen hearts that included me.



2007 DTSI V3 which had LED tail lamp and Digi console treatment in it to further take the game up



2007 marked the presence of 2 new variants that’s big brothers of 150. 180 i.e. 200 & 220 FI.




2009 did see a small Pulsar 135 as well which did receive mixed opinions amongst the enthusiasts and critics as far as I can recollect.



Whilst FI legacy was short lived, 200 was a mean looking hefty bike that kept the ball rolling forward until 220 DTSI came into the picture.

Fast forward to 2012, Pulsar brand was improvised with 200NS that was another league altogether when it came to build quality and handling department. That’s still has a lot of avid followers for how it looks.

RS200 again is a good bike that’s saving the name for itself. I’m now eagerly waiting on for RS400.

The Bajaj Pulsar is sold in more than 25 countries worldwide. The model has achieved a global sales milestone of 1 crore units and to mark this occasion, Bajaj has launched special edition versions of its Pulsar range.



The Black Pack edition is available on the Pulsar 150, 180 and 220F. The Pulsar Black Pack editions are finished in a black paint with matte grey highlights. New decals have also been added. Besides this, the bikes ride on white alloy wheels and get satin chrome exhaust covers.



The Pulsar 150 is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 13.8 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 13.4 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. The mid-range Pulsar 180 has a 178.6cc, single-cylinder engine that delivers 16.8 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.22 Nm of peak torque @ 6,500 rpm. The Pulsar 220F is offered with a 220cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 20.6 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.55 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. All three come equipped with 5-speed gearboxes.
