The affected bikes include the 21,640 units of the FZ25 and 2,257 units of the Fazer 25 manufactured from January 2017. According to Yamaha, the problem in the bikes is the loosening of head cover bolt. In order to fix this, the bolt must be tightened to a specified torque and the recommended Loctite needs to be applied to prevent the loosening.

The affected bikes will be repaired free of cost by Yamaha authorized dealers. As a precaution, Yamaha has requested owners to avoid using their bikes until they are fixed. Owners of the affected bikes will be contacted individually. Owners can also visit the official website to check if their bike is among those diagnosed with this issue.

The Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer 25 share the same engine. It's a 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 20.6 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed transmission.
