Suzuki seems to be on a spree of dressing up these two wheelers to look like muscle men but when you take off the clothes, then end up being a 98 pound weakling. Happened with the intruder and now this one.

Isnt that what what Indian audiences love (cough salman cough).

Both these manufacturers have been using just one engine and used them with multiple body shells.

"Oh No! Not again!" This was my first reaction on seeing this. First the Intruder and then this Burgmann. Both are wannabe models of their famous big brothers but inside is a puny engine that are used in their mass market models like Gixer and Access respectively.

On a lighter note, the looks of these two reminds me of an American Football player with his huge gear.

But looks like this is the new trend with even the BMW G310 GS also made to look just like it's big brothers

Re: Suzuki Burgman Street launched at Rs. 68,000

It's such a shame that the 'Burgman' badge is coming to India on this contraption. I really hoped Suzuki would at least bring the Burgman 200 to justify its maxi-scooter credentials. This one looks severely under-tyred for all that bulk above - a trait shared with its cousin, the Intruder. The front apron is decently styled, though (albeit disproportionate) and the 125 cc mill from the Access is a gem, indeed!

Seems to be catching attention due to the size. My wife asked yesterday night about the newly launched Suzuki scooter called -

"Burgerman".

68k is a lot of money for a 125cc scooter though - no matter how much steeroids it has taken.

I had similar thought but a different character in mind-Johnny Bravo. Scooter this size deserves a pair of 14inch wheels. This is the Johnny Bravo of scooters, all show no go!

Re: The Suzuki Burgman Street, now launched at Rs. 68,000

I, for one feel this is a good entry point. Many city commuters need scooters that they can drive comfortably for hours in choked up traffic. This provides a large option with spaced out seating. Consider it the cruiser version.

As its the only one of its kind currently in India, Suzuki had to go more conventional route, with tested engines to keep costs low and mileage high. I am hopeful, if this is successful, there would be more options in the future.

I've booked today. I was told on-road price in Bangalore is 85570, booking amount is 5000. Delivery will apparently take 15-30 days.

I have been waiting for a new commuter scooter with ABS to be launched. So by keeping the engine capacity at 124 cc, they have skirted the need for an ABS. 2 wheelers with more than 125 cc should have ABS as per the current govt. norms. Isn't that so?

Front disc looks small on 12" front wheel. Does anyone know its size, TVS Ntorq has front disc of 220mm (just for comparison).

I guess it's a 120mm disc upfront but it's more than enough to comfortable and safely slow down this scooter considering how light this scooter is!
