I have a 2000 CBZ which has suddendly developed a strange problem...the front end sways/wobbles when the speed goes above 80 kmph...
I havent dropped or banged the bike anywhere....it has just started happening out of the blue...got the bike serviced from FortPoint at Mahim...but the guys there say there is no problem at all....
But i am sure abt wat i am feeling...anyways which is the best HH service centre in mumbai??

Hey.... you are here also

Anyway, is there a Castrol Bike zone in Mumbai ?? I took my bike (Pulsar) to Castrol Bike Zone and they took it for a test ride and when that chap came back, he said the front forks need to be overhauled. And this was before I had given him my list of problems.

Was pretty impressed compared to the usual Bajaj fellows.

Anyway, he charged 750/- for that but my bike was superb after that. They changed the front fork bearings, oil, etc...etc...

check your rims or forks whether if it is bent.... generally thats the cause for the wobbling.

Get wheel alignment done and the problem will disappear.

Check the bearings of your Tee-joint. Get a friendly neighborhood mechanic to do it. Most service centers screw up minor jobs.

Wraith,
Then Get your Front Fork and the bearings on the frond fork checked and last but not the least check the telescope suspension on the front for any misalignments (Height variations).
Thanks,
Mega

^^ yup do that asap.

BTW try leaving the handlebar at say, 40KMPH and see whether the bike veerns to any side...

Most of the times that phenomenon happens coz of too much oil in the front forks. They become super stiff, instead of absorbing the bumps, they start jumping...try to get 5ml of oil decreased from both forks. remember : 5ml, not 1ml more, not 1ml less.

rear suspension

Hey guys !!

I don not know whether this is the right thread to ask this quetion.
Just want to know what is the life of bikes rear suspension ?
i own a pulsar and its 3 yrears old now.
the rear suspension looks all compressed now as compared to other bikes also when somebody is sitting back the ride seems a bit low on the back end .

If anybody has any information about this please letme know .

chilled_fire it all depends on how much kms you have used your motorcycle and even than how much abuse the suspension has taken. If the travel of suspension has increased and it gets a bit wobbly try to change the suspension setting to harder and see if it helps. Also I got my pulsars suspension changed after three years, it costs Rs. 600-650 for the new rear suspension in Delhi.
