In 2018, Brembo plans to invest Rs. 72.14 crore in India. The company's expansion plans include the construction of the new plant, which will be completed within a year. Besides, the existing plants at Chakan near Pune and Manesar will be upgraded as well.

Brembo's ByBre brand currently has a market share of over 50% in the 2-wheeler segment. The company is expecting further growth as new safety regulations have come into force from April 1, 2018. As per the new rules, combined braking system (CBS) is mandatory for 2-wheelers under 125 cc, while vehicles with engines larger than 125 cc must have ABS.

Will the products be branded Brembo or ByBre? If Brembo, it will be interesting to see how they handle institutional sales.

BYBRE (By Brembo) Braking systems are manufactured for Motorcycles from 200-600 cc for exclusively BRIC Countries. I reckon Brembo in Chennai will cater for even bigger Automobiles (4 Wheelers) and export requirements.

Always wondered why Brembo invented a new brand. Was it because the product does not meet Brembo's quality. Or Brembo thought the price point at which KBX/ Bosch were operating would cheapen the Brembo brand.

Because Brembo costs per part are way more expensive for a non sport bike. JJuan is also the same way, but they will instead you can put your logo on the brake calipers. If you look at the new Duke 790 there branded as KTM but there actually JJuan.

ByBre brakes have been pretty decent, they were frowned upon at first, but now that people know there made by Brembo...theres some okayness for them.
