Scomadi, a British scooter manufacturing company is all set to enter the Indian market.

In India, Scomadi has partnered with AJ Performance to retail scooters in the country. AJ Performance is a Pune-based company which deals with imported cars and performance parts. The report also states that the first product from Scomadi will be a 125cc scooter.

Scomadi is a British scooter company known for its classic-style scootersml
Looks like it is derived from Lambretta GP (Vijai Super in India)

1.98L ex showroom.

Could have atleast brought in the TT200 if it was going to be so premium. Love the Lambretta inspired styling though!

Crazy pricing. And if someone wants a premium retro scooter, there's already the Vespa, right? The Vespa is cheaper & has far better brand strength in India than Scomadi - doubt anyone has even heard of them.

Like what!!! Really 1.98L ex showroom?

With a more established and popular Vespa in the market with the premium scoots, I don't find a reason for anyone to walk into the store to buy this one in India.

Unless of course they just want to show-off!

I heard about the brand "Scomadi" from this thread. I'm sure 90% of the scooter buying population won't even realize that there is such a brand in the market let alone think of purchasing one.

Vespa had the 946 which was supposed to be launched in India. The estimated pricing was around 2L. They seem to have backed out of it later after evaluating the market.

946 was 10x more droolworthy than this Scomadi, IMO. I really like the looks of this Scomadi over the regular Vespa range though - but certainly not at this price.

PS: That said - Vespa later went on to launch the Emporio Armani version of the 946 for around 12.5L ex showroom. A launch that only seemed to have happened on papers.
