Re: My Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS : Rust, Reliability & Regret

Even the ELEPHANTS have 1 month storage threshold

My Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS : Rust, Reliability & Regret-hyper.jpg

I think it is all "hyper" with the Dominars...Hyper riding, Hyper advertising, Hyper head light throw and Hyper Rusting.

For the record - my 2011 Elephant with a company treated petrol tank has not rusted or flaked it's coating (No touch wood ) and I have kept it idle for two months (save the Sunday short distance rides), while I was working away from home. All I had to face was the death of the 6 year old battery.

So what happened with the replacement delay? Were all the relevant components replaced? How much did it cost?(if any) What was the main cause?

I have yet to receive the bike - parts were replaced yesterday.
I will go to take the delivery soon - then I will know the cost

There is no response from Bajaj on reliability & service issues though I have written to Mr. Bajaj directly .

Though they have sent an email stating that issue is resolved .

Re: My Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS : Rust, Reliability & Regret

I have brought back the bike today with replaced parts - fuel pump & petrol tank.
They have changed the inline fuel filter, oil filter & oil also.

They wanted me to sign a satisfaction slip against my complaint but I had explained my reasons as why I could not do that !

Total cost including labor, greasing, parts & 4 litres of fuel comes approx. 8500 /-

On a lighter note, the only "reliable" RE vs the only "unreliable" Domi!
Battle Royale!

Can't comment on the Dominars, but there are several reliable REs in this forum.. be it CI or UCE.
