Black and Gold colour scheme looks real good. A pity that it's a limited run.

I hope they introduce an all-black variant of the Interceptor soon.

Has anyone here changed the handlebar on their interceptor into something more committed like a drag handlebar? Curious to know what their experience has been like

I thought so too, the hassle is a bit too much and way too many variables for complete peace of mind while riding. Thanks for validation though

Completed 6000 kms with the Interceptor yesterday (the bike completed 13,000 between me and the previous owner). The overall experience has been bitter-sweet. Bitter because of the constant niggles cropping up (mentioning two instances below) and un-interested workshop mechanics even after pointing out issues (though i can confidently say its not as bad as @thepilgrim1424's experience with his Himalayan). Sweet because every time I ride, the smooth pull of the engine is something i really look forward to - drowns out every other emotion.

Instance 1

Saturday 18th Sept - While washing the bike i notice oil stains of the left fork - figured out that the fork seal had gone bust. The bike had meanwhile developed two more niggles:

1. While cruising down a flyover, pulling in the clutch lever caused the engine to shut off
2. The accelerator developed a play

So took it to the service to get the above three issues resolved. Specifically pointed it out to the Service advisor about the accelerator play.

Sunday 19th Sept - Get the bike back. Everything seems to work fine.

Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday - Ride the bike to office (usual daily run - 70 kms).

Thursday - Accelerator cable breaks in the evening on my way back home. Luckily as the interceptor has two cables (forward & return) I managed to ride it back home. Only if the workshop mechanics had the foresight to check the cables and replace it things would have been simple.

Instance 2

18th Nov Thursday – Bike refuses to start in the morning – gives out “kit-kit” sound on cranking leading me to believe it’s a dead battery (weird as the bike behaved perfectly fine till last evening). Call the dealership and get it picked up. Specifically ask them to get the battery and the alternator checked for any issues.

20th Nov Saturday – Get a call from the dealership saying they have checked the battery and alternator thoroughly and I need to get the battery replaced as its reached the end of its life (2 years and 8 months). Give them a go ahead and get the bike back.

Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday - Ride the bike to office (usual daily run - 70 kms).

Thursday – Bike refuses to start in the morning – gives out the same “kit-kit” sound on cranking like last time. Comedy of errors but the joke is on me now. Have written a stern mail to the territory service manage and customer service. Now the wait begins. My father has already given me the usual "I-told-you-so-don't-buy-an-Enfield" stare and i am dreading when he brings it up today during the evening tea session.

Sir, why would you do this? Clutch has to be engaged only when trying to move from stand still & shifting gears; otherwise thumb rule is to use less brakes, clutch & gear shifts. Anyway, these are some lessons I learnt at very early stages & they're helping me a lot.

Thursday & PatientMan don't go together I guess

But quite frustrating!! Don't know what to say. Do you hear the fuel pump priming followed by the kitkat sound when cranking or the fuel pump doesn't prime at all?

After being a silent reader of this thread, I am happy to inform you guys that I picked up a 2019 Mark 3 yesterday.

Had been looking for the past few weeks and saw quite a few low run BS6 models but unfortunately they always had some issue or the other.

This one is from Mumbai, had a friend check out the bike on Saturday and after his positive feedback decided to go and check it out with the preparedness to ride it back home.

The bike has done 17000 kms, has a fully documented service history and is in pretty good nick both mechanically and aesthetically.
It also has a nice sounding MW exhaust and air filter.
Will be changing the tyres soon.

Special thanks to surjaonwheelz who made the decision easier by letting me ride his bike on our morning ride the previous day

Here’s some pics from yesterday’s return journey.

Congratulations mate!
Continuing with the black theme above MarkIII can be converted to 120 years special edition scheme.

Wish you many indulging detailing sessions with your black beauty, the wet gloss on a black bike will be killer.

It was a fun Saturday ride, wonder what Spitfire told your Apache before the bike swap!

My bike feels like it is gasping for air / fuel at low rpms (especially when moving from standstill) and sometimes even stalls. Any idea what the issue could be? I've had the spark plugs checked (look ok) as well as changed the air filter and oil. It seems to run fine once I cross 2.5 / 3k rpm.
