Thanks to everyone for your good advice.

I got a call back from one of the showrooms saying they have a Baker Express & a Ventura Blue available readily as some customer is not ready to take the bike right away. I was very tempted to just go to the showroom and book the bike, but after reading all your replies and letting my brain take over from the heart, I have decided to consider shifting my focus to the used bike options. I know the 1L will give me a lot of flexibility to add accessories etc.

It's mainly the relays which causes issues, I have had multiple relay failures till now, though BS4 bikes have none. Its just a 100 rupee part but can be quite irritating to get due to shortage. This again can be limited to a batch and not to all, as me and my friend who had bike from same batch faced same issues, but deepak sir has had no issues.

No its just a relay not the unit, it costs 102 rupees each.

Our bike is from June 2021 batch, Deepak sir was also very close, but touch wood it has been doing great.

Got the First service done of my 21'RE Continental GT at 509km.

The total amount came Rs 3271

Overall Happy with the service,
Had an issue with the brakes which got rectified.

It seems like this thread is mirroring my life lol. Went out on a short ride yesterday and stopped at a cafe for lunch. Lo and behold, my interceptor refused to start! Now the battery and RR units were replaced less than a month ago, Lights, indicators and horn worked perfectly, I could hear the fuel pump working but press the started button and nada! Called the RSA, they checked the bike out and narrowed the issue to a blown relay! Somehow managed to push start the bike and rode back 18 kms in rush hour stop and go Hyderabad traffic without stalling. Will have my home service center check the bike out. Hopefully, its a cheap fix!

Here is a picture of the part with the details in case anyone is interested. I will suggest that Interceptor and GT 650 owners check the post which I had shared with AtheK. Hopefully none of you are impacted by it and Royal Enfield is able to quickly sort out the vendor issues and fix this.

Chasis breaking incidence of 650 cc twin. The bike also had aftermarket alloy wheels. Could this have caused the chasis to crack or quality issues?

Is anyone aware of a small backrest available for the Interceptor? I have the Zana one, but it's unnecessarily tall, to the point that getting on and off the bike for a pillion becomes a problem, they can't swing their leg over it. They can always put the left foot on the peg and then jump-swing over, but that's not possible for oldies. The old Thunderbird 350 backrest looks ideal, but it won't fit the Inty, and for some reason all the available options are absolutely gigantic.

I just noticed that there are some ‘crack-like’ marks on my Interceptor’s tyres. Does this mean that I will have to change the tyres?

The bike is 2.5 years old, and has run 5k KMS.

I picked up a used BS4 model in November. 2.2 year old bike and it had done close to 17k kms. It came with quite a few accessories and an exhaust + air filter installed.

Have covered close to 1000kms so far, happy with the purchase.

I would suggest check out the used ones, especially the ones that have a good exhaust
