Two-year showroom-new bikes are quite common in the US and I have indulged myself a couple of times, and a lot of people buy these, don't seem to be having any particular trouble.
A few crazy deals I have seen
Right on rajushank84! I bought a 2013 model year Honda NC700x in 2014, for a discount of $2k (20%). There is nothing that the dealer can do, or would do that would affect the bike while it is in storage. Sure the tires would have gone through a few heat cycles. On those lines, the bikes parked in the dealer lot under sun would also go through several heat cycles. I have seen zero issues on prior model year bikes. In the last 6 years, my Honda has never been to a dealer, I even did the first service myself. It truly is a fill it, shut it, forget it - bike.

I am a big fan of buying prior year model bikes at a discount. I was on the lookout again since last month. I just missed out on a new 2018 F850 GS adventure for $12k + taxes. A 2018 Africa Twin was available for $8K, I missed out on that as well. When they drop the prices on prior year model bikes, they disappear fast.

Then this Corona stuff happened, and everything came to a halt. I am expecting bigger discounts after this summer. Especially if there is a recession, cash will be king, everywhere. An unsold 2019 bike after this summer should have huge discounts.

He had to get a Red! He was lucky to get one. I was part of his buying and selection process. We had countless walks in the office parking to check out these machines. He would always stop a bit longer at the 310R

Congratulations mate!

I test rode his bike. I'm not used to these high revving modern bikes coming from an Enfield. The attention to detail and different surface finishes are immaculately perfect! Just feel the front forks, there is a fine ribbed machine finish. The rear grab rail has slits to pass luggage straps, minor attention to details goes a long way.

Enjoy your prized possession.

Ride safe,

Thank you very much Sir! You are correct. The baby Beemer does look the best to me in the segment. There is something about her that I can't pen down in words.
Red was the unanimous choice for us. Our Punto is also in red 😊
I would also like to thank you for being there when I was getting confused around the choices👍

Totally agree here. The finishing is superb in the bike. The only cost cutting that BMW has done is in the key which looks too basic. But I am not complaining.

Seems like BMW might go in for a price correction (only for people who thought it over priced) during the BS6 upgrade and pit the bikes directly against their KTM rivals.

Did they already have this coming or is it the corona effect?

This is pure speculation at this point but such a big decision would surely have been thought off pre Corona. I think they want many more customers as they make a killing on service costs. These bikes cost as much as the 650cc ninjas cost to maintain.
