Ather announces 3 year warranty for existing Ather 450 owners

Ather Energy has announced an extension of warranty for its existing Ather 450 customers. Those who had purchased the Ather 450 e-scooter under FAME I were offered 2 years warranty, which has now been extended to 3 years.

Earlier this week, the Ather 450 received its FAME II certification. Under FAME II, it is mandatory for manufacturers to offer 3 year comprehensive warranty on its products. Therefore, new customers will be offered a 3 year warranty. The government subsidy has also increased to Rs. 27,000.

The Ather 450 is powered by a Brushless DC electric motor (BLDC) that produces 7.2 BHP and 20.5 Nm of torque and comes equipped with a 2.4 kWh lithium-ion battery that is claimed to offer a maximum range of 107 km.

FAME II has 13 components in 2W segment for localization. Having it achieved was a great feat by itself.

Ather might have taken right decision to go with localization while development phase itself. kudos.
