Re: Scoop! Bajaj Urbanite scooter caught testing in Pune

To me, the big difference is going to be the manufacturing capacity and distribution network, rather than the specs. (Unless the specs are way lesser than what 450 offers).

Ather is still struggling to make and support scooters only in Bangalore. And just now Chennai.

If Bajaj hits 500 probiking + KTM showrooms as announced, it's basically game over for Ather everywhere in the country except for Bangalore and maybe Chennai. And Bajaj will take the real first mover advantage.

^ True, But Hero motors do have a stake in Ather, so they can very well use Hero Motors resources for mass production even the current Hero motor plants could be quickly adapted to making body panels, frame, suspension while Ather could concentrate on the electronics and software side.

Finally the Bajaj Chetak Electric has been launched!

Also heard that the boss did take a subtle dig at other players.

Looks like the seat is installed in reverse direction. I hope this position
is comfortable enough.

The emblem like piece in the front of the seat is seat release knob?
If it is, hope it comes with some security feature.

Girish

Although Bajaj too will also start in only 2 cities (Pune first and later Bangalore), Ather should pull up their socks now or Bajaj will get ahead. The current production pace of Ather is definitely slow.

I think it is a baggage hook for hanging small items. The seat opening will be in the key slot I guess.

There was nothing subtle about saying that people who used to import Chinese phones, have no manufacturing experience, etc are the ones trying to revolutionize the industry.
