Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

After the 125 Neon Variant, another Pulsar 125 in the form of a Split Seat variant (with tank extensions, engine belly pan, split grab rails and looks like the 150 Twin Disc / Discontinued Pulsar 180) seems to have reached dealers. Awaiting the official annoucement.

Have to say that it would be the most desirable 125 cc in the country currently. But what's next? Pulsar 125F. Also is the Pulsar line up getting too much Stretched/Diluted/Confusing?

re: Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

Nothing new, they are the diluting the value of the Pulsar just the way they did when they launched the Pulsar 135/Discover 150 several years back.

Can't understand the logic behind this? But, why does Bajaj have a 100-150cc engine in almost all of their bike lineups?

A CT150 is the last thing I want to see on this earth. Please Bajaj, do not devalue the existing image of any lineup by creating variants with upsized or downsized engines.

re: Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

The bike seems too heavy for a 125cc motorcycle. I know for the fact that the 180/150 Twin Disc is heavier than the regular 150 variant. 125 Neon already weights about 140kgs. This one will weigh as much as a 150cc bike.

re: Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

Basically Bajaj must rename itself to Pulsar Auto limited. The tagline can be "We have a pulsar for everyone". It can be the next logical step. Barring the dominar all they have been doing lately is to milk the pulsar brand instead of developing something impressive. They got shot in the scooter market, and when they thought they should do bikes instead, Honda and Hero gave them tough competition. So what do we do now? Turn to that Pulsar which must have been in the museum by now, and give it a rebirth. Next in line will be Pulsar 100 in place of the CT100 and they will be set for a few years by which the electric market will kill whatever is left out of them. Funny thing is that they wanted to use the body of the earlier Pulsar instead of the NS or RS, just because it has a fan following. Come on Bajaj, its nearly 2020. Where have the old days of innovation gone?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

In 2001, when Bajaj launched the initial Pulsar twins, what a radical game changing move it was. Bajaj had overnight become the brand that was associated with performance for motorcycling enthusiasts. 18 years later, they are still flogging iterations of the Pulsars and only have the Dominar launch to show for carrying forward the performance heritage.

It can be argued that the KTMs have taken over the performance mantle for them but what does the Pulsar brand stand for any more? All I see is stagnation in innovation and desperation for sales. Interchanging parts, paint schemes and engines as though one is playing with Lego pieces can only result in that many launches.

Bajaj needs to hire some motorcyclists to wake them out of their slumber !

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat variant

Last weekend had visited the ASC at Kollam to source a spare for a fellow enthusiast and dropped by to check the OTR price of the P125 and call me fairly shocked to learn than the same was available for 91.5k at Kollam for the Neon Variant.

Guess the split seat version would be priced at a price higher than what I paid for my P220 in 2015.

Just wait till April 2020.. prices will get hiked again when BSVI Norms kick in and which means even bikes like CT100 and TVS XL100 (Moped) will get Fuel Injection..!!

No wonder Bajaj decided to get in the Pulsar 125 Variants so that it somehow tries to maintain the price point of the current Pulsar 150

Wait till you hear the pricing of the entry level KTMs. The new Duke 200 has an on road price in Kerala of Rs 1,98,925 and the RC 200 is for Rs 2,31,234. 5 years ago, the KTM Duke 390 retailed for less than what the RC 200 retails for now. And that too, the KTM 200s have remained the same except for periodic paint scheme changes and the recent addition of ABS.

And manufacturers wonder why they are doing so badly in sales .
