Jawa had unveiled three motorcycles last year, and launched two. Many BHPians found the Perak to be the most interesting motorcycle among the three - but it was only a concept back then!

The wait is over now - as Jawa has announced the launch for 15th of November 2019 to mark the one year anniversary of the brand in India. Perak is also likely to be the first BS6 compliant Jawa to be launched in the market.

Jawa had earlier announced that the Perak will be priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom), however, we expect the final asking price to go up due to factors such as inflation and the upcoming emission norms.

The Perak is based on the Jawa, but considering that it’s an all-new body style, the bike maker had to make some tweaks. For instance, it gets a longer swingarm and features a monoshock instead of twin rear shock absorbers. Moreover, being the top-end model of Jawa’s lineup, it gets disc brake at the rear, which replaces the drum unit as seen on the other motorcycles.

Jawa should really increase efforts to ramp up deliveries instead of coming up with new distractions on a daily basis. Such theoretical new launches when hundreds if not thousands of customers are waiting for their bikes since months are uncalled for & will only alienate the brand further

Haven't seen much Jawa's on the road, I am unable to understand what is wrong with the company's strategy and how are they perceiving the market to behave. It is surprising to read that they have completed One full year in India, yet neither they have any USP nor their are much numbers to substantiate their presence in the market.

I really hope that the people at the helms of affair are able to correct what is gone wrong and look towards strengthening their presence and share in the already high sliding market.

Before they launch any new models, it is imperative for M&M fix the paint issues on the existing two models. They are outrightly pathetic with almost zero paint adhesion.

Any news about the pricing of Perak ?

Jawa Perak launched at Rs 1.95 lakh. The Jawa Perak has been finally showcased in production-ready form; bookings open in January 2020.

Jawa has just launched its third and last of the three models it showcased last year - Perak - at Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Perak was first showcased with a Rs 1.89 lakh price tag and the near Rs 6,000 increase is likely a result of the engine being upgraded to meet the new BS6 emission norms. Jawa will begin to accept bookings for the Perak on January 1, 2020. However, the bike maker has revealed that deliveries for the motorcycle will begin much later, on April 2, 2020. This is quite a significant waiting period – just like we saw with the last two Jawa models.

Looks awesome, perfect bike for that single guy who just landed his first job. Until ofcourse till he gets a girl friend, and then ruins his life.

:uncontrol

The bike looks pretty proportional when compared to RE. Triumph/HD level of proportional. I hope they include a rear seat as an accessory. I am definitely going to visit the showroom in Thrissur next time I am in Kerala.

Rear seat as an accessory is not possible in a Bobber. The entire rear wheel section including wheels and it’s cover are part of the swing arm and move up and down as you ride unlike regular bikes which have an independent tail section where the rear seat is mounted. So, no, rear seat not possible in my view

Looks like Royal Enfield were quick to act on this :

I'm just wondering how Jawa will handle the booking and delivery process.

If Jawa and Jawa 42's sales are anything to go by, not many will be confident with the booking and delivery timelines

This looks like a regular Classic with the rear seat removed. Its the easiest thing in the world to remove the Classic 500/350 pillion seat and I'm not sure why RE would make such a song and dance about this.
I often take the rear seat off to polish the mudguard and inevitably it remains off for a few weeks after that because the bike looks better without it.
Which genius at RE decided that this could be sold as a separate variant? This is even more asinine than the Trials model. :Frustrati
