One of my Favourites Race to Dakar by Charley Boorman.. It is a 7-part series which takes us right from race prep to race finish....

I saw this a few years back. Really good inside look on the Dakar . Things got pretty emotional too.

I like his videos, especially the narration, very clear. The latest video on ride to Tibet was one of the best.

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

Thanks for starting this thread. It will give the likes of us an idea of which youtube channels to follow, the option of watching various adventures and hopefully get inspired enough to undertake a small adventure of our own. It is always inspiring to see what these lads and lasses get upto on their adventures.

I have been following Noraly, on her itchy boots channel since the time she started from India, across Asia. I am a keen follower of her season 2 as well, now covering the Americas. She actually doesn't do much, as in no fancy editing or photography, just an abbreviated account of the days travels and scenery and stay, but for some reason quite interesting. Maybe its because shes doing all this on an Indian made bike - the RE Himalayan.

Cheerio!

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

Now this is a great thread!

There's this guy on ADVrider, Colebatch. His Russia rides are AMAZING. He used to upload episodes on YouTube also.

And one of my favourite travelogue by this guy:

I also loved Lyndon Poskitt's Malle Moto documentary

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

Excellent thread. Well before the advent of YouTube I used to follow blog a guy from Hyderabad who travelled the world in his yellow Hero Honda Karizma. I believe his name was Bharadwaj. I was hooked on to his blog. Anyone else remember him or used to follow him?

Yes, the humble Bharadwaj Dayala on his signature yellow HH Karizma.
Indeed, he is very well known in bike touring circles. A legend in his own right. The first Indian to do a solo RTW ride on an Indian bike before google maps, GoPros, Drones etc! Here is his video summary

This is his very inspiring presentation about his trip (straight from his heart, with lots of humor) at the Motorcycle Travelers Meet few years back

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

This is not a ride video, but a very interesting & inspiring presentation by one of the team members of the 7 member Mumbai Police team who rode from Mumbai to London in 1977 on Royal Enfield bikes! Lots of interesting tales, facts & humor from their very memorable ride and preparations.

Here's one that happened in Laos. The south east asia is on my bucket list as a land up, buy a bike, and explore for a few months model.

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

This is a fantastic one.

A 2200 km adventure through the landscapes of Peru. From deserts to jungles. Beautiful stuff.

South America is on my bucket list as well. Big bucket I have.

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

Documentaries from the time when people really didn't give two hoots about vanity and motorcycling was at its purest!

On Any Sunday - 1971

This is a cult classic and I'm pretty sure everyone has watched this but there's another one, less know in these parts of the world, but nonetheless a must watch indeed.

Cycles South - 1971

This is about 3 friends who hop on their motorcycles and ride south, not much of a description so you'd have to watch it to see why its a revered classic.

And if you were wondering, these two were literally the catalysts that put men and women on motorcycles for recreational purposes.

Enjoy,
A.P.

Re: Motorcycle Adventure Travel Documentaries

Adam Reihmann makes some proper adventure videos on two wheels. Can’t wait for this one to go live.
