Vins Duecinquanta : 250cc Euro-5 compliant two-stroke!

Yes, you read that right! Euro-5 & Two-stroke.

As per media reports - Vins Duecinquanta, a motorcycle designed a small company in Maranello seems to have received type approval to be ridden on British roads for its 249.5cc V-twin motor that puts out 74bhp at 11,700rpm and conforms to the Euro-5 emission norms. The motorcycle was displayed at EICMA 2019.

Along with the lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis, the motorcycle weighs just 105kg (dry) giving it an excellent power/weight ratio for a 250cc machine. Max torque is 45 Nm@11,700 rpm whereas the claimed top speed is 210 kms/hour!

Also unique is a ‘Hossack’ style front suspension, which uses wishbones rather than a telescopic fork and was last seen on BMW’s K1300R.

Price is not revealed and is likely to be an expensive motorcycle. But it's good to hear a two-stroke motor once again.

To summarize...

Imagine a motorcycle that weighs like Dio, has a motor as much as CBR 250R & does a top speed like Versys 650 putting the legendary RD 350 to shame

Dio = 104kg (wet)
This bike is 105kg dry. With all fluids its likely to weigh between a CD Dream Yuga and the CB Shine 125.
But this bike is expected to cost over double the SBKs of today.
